My lovely son booked the restaurant for a Mothers Day treat, The restaurant seemed fine, a nice ambience, very welcoming staff, it went downhill after ordering our meal, we waited 3/4 of hour for our starter, the waiter asked if we had our starters, it took another 20 minutes before we got our food. The main course was very poor,... More

We came here for a meal for Mother's Day and arrived to hear complaints whilst waiting for our table from 3 separate parties about the wait and quality of food which wasn't promising. We had to wait 25 minutes before we could even sit at our table, when we tried to order starters we couldn't get what we wanted from... More

Booking made very last minute as always ! none the less the lovely room in the courtyard was very warm and cosy and Theo our toy poodle loved the little balcony, All staff were excellent, super organised and charming, the food was good too which isn't normally the case when we have been to mass catered events. Overall fantastic

We stayed here a week ago, having booked over the phone. I booked a 'superior room' and upon arrival, the room was stone cold. I went and explained this to the manager as the radiator was not working. He immediately offered us a new room upstairs that was much warmer. Our room was the very dated 'Africa' room...a bad example... More

Stayed here as it was very close to where I needed to be for business. It was unfortunately very quiet but that meant that the staff were falling over themselves to help - it deserves to be busier as it has lovely grounds and is quite romantic. The bed was very comfortable with a nice rainfall shower over the bath.... More

We held our wedding here in July which was amazing. The best day of my life and The Cockliffe was in no small part responsible for this. I've written a previous review and you will see how highly I rate them. I'm sorry to say our following experiences have not been so good. At our wedding there were a couple... More

Our greeting was lacklustre at best. Our room was a bit cramped with a big slope in the floor. Can you get sea sick at a hotel? There was no WiFi in our room and when we complained the manager simply shrugged and said service was always spotty. Seriously? Then why advertise free WiFi? The cold water in the tub... More

Thought the location of the hotel was great as was going to Greenwood Bonsai studios which was just round the corner. We had the oval room which was huge and really comfy. The staff are really pleasant although we didn't eat in the restaurant we did have a couple of drinks in the bar which was very pleasant. A great... More
