We had a very nice ocean front room and our children and their spouses had a bungalow. Super service and loved seeing the whales from our room. Nice staff all around! Second time and would go back again. More

We didn't receive the room we reserved 9 months before we arrived. We got the suite we asked for but it was on the 1st floor instead of the top floor like we asked for. It took about an hour to finally get a room on the top floor but it wasn't the type of room that we wanted. However,... More

We had a splendid time at the Mauna Lani staying in an ocean-front corner room (for most of our 6 night stay). That room type is spacey and comfortable and has a great ocean view including the opportunity to see whales. Unfortunately we were on the side that only barely could spot the sunset from the lanai (balcony), however the... More

This is my January 2012 review of Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. This was our 31st stay at Mauna Lani, coincidentally celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary. (We had an extra trip in September 2011—wonderful, with super-calm sea conditions for lots of shore snorkeling and interesting, different flowering plants and trees.) We always go in late January to celebrate our anniversary, but... More

The rooms are very outdated for the rate charged. Understood - the purpose of staying in Hawaii is not to stay in the room, but the rates are approaching MUCH higher end properties. At the very least, give us strong wifi to stay in touch with the loved ones back on the mainland. The people were nice on the whole.... More

It was an experience to walk around the ancient royal fish ponds and learn about the families that lived on this property for hundreds of years. We saw ancient petroglyphs on the same walk around the property and we had a very knowledgeable guide. There is a museum where adults and children can learn ancient Hawaiian crafts. The man who... I have been a guest at Mauna Lani Bay for 26 years. The hotel was horrible when we stayed there 2 years ago so we complained to the management. It was my hope that the hotel improved in the last 2 years so I called to inquire about a reservation. To my surprise we received a letter from their lawyer... More

We enjoyed this hotel with it's historic grounds. The fish ponds and petroglyphs were interesting. The service was good. We felt that the beach was quite nice and snorkeling great at the south beach. We snorkeled a few place including off of a sailboat charter. We felt that this was the best. The Canoe House restaurant was great, but the... More
