We had a fantastic 4 night stay. Our room was gorgeous, the breakfast roof top deck spectacular with perfect views of Mt Etna. Our hosts were very helpful and pleasant. If you are looking for night life this may not be the place. The town is small and not much was open but we were a little ahead of the... More

What an unexpected pleasant surprise! Palazzo Giovanni in Stazzo between Catania and Taormina overlooking Etna was an elegant and welcoming place on the Ionian Sea. Silvio, the owner was an excellent host and made our stay unforgettable. The breakfast with his amazing homemade lemon and orange marmelade from his orchard, the bread, the fresh juices and the good coffee on the... Wonderful charming host, prego, chow. But when to pay he had taken my paperwork from internet when I arrived and it was thrown away. When I asked if we had paid at the end of the stay nobody spoke english except a friend we said yes. When driving off we were told "pay". No cards just cash. Half an hour... More

My girlfriend and I stayed there for a couple of nights in June. Silvio is very welcoming, patient and friendly, and even with limited English we can still communicate with smiles and hands :). The place is ideally located in a small village, on a quiet street with great rooftop views on the surrounding landscape and of course the Etna.... More

Silvio runs a great BB. Located excellently to make all necessary visits to the central east coast of Sicily, Etna, Taormina, Savoca and even Catania (despite being a city, in my opinion, ugly and expendable) . Silvio makes you a welcome worthy of kings with a tasting limoncelo and recommend you on all what you want. Always remains on you... More

We stayed two nights, which was way to short. The delicious breakfasts on the rooftop with view on the Etna, the village and the sea are unforgettable. So is Silvio, on the most helpful of host we've ever met, despite speaking very little English. He made all the difference in terms of finding the best things to do, including arranging... More

We stayed 4 nights here and really enjoyed our visit. Stazzo is a quiet little fishing village near a lot of wonderful Sicilian sites. Silvio is very helpful-- although he speaks little English, he tries very hard to communicate information with enthusiastic gestures. The breakfast terrace has breathtaking views---the sea on one side and Mt. Etna on the other. We... More

We got lost and were late arriving form the Catania airport, 1.00 a.m. in the morning! Silvio made us feel very welcome anyway. We were settled in a lovely room with our own garden space. Slept like lambs! Next morning....amazing breakfast on the rooftop op the Palazzo, with views of the Etna! This is why we came to Sicily!!!!! We... More

The first thing that struck me about this place was the beautiful smell of blossoming lemon trees and the view of Etna from our room...our stay was a true experience. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Immersed in the perfumed lemon gardens which are typical of Acireale coast, Giovanni Palace B&B has been recently renovated in full obedience of the original style of early twentieth-century building, with all the amenities and comforts of a prestigious hotel. Art-Nouveau-decorated floors, fresco ceilings, original period furniture and paintings made by grandma represent the manners of a noble Etnean family, "Leotta Dilettoso Vagliasindi del Castello", whose Silvio, the manager of the B&B, is the youngest descendant. You can admire the wonderful view of Etna Volcano and lose your gaze above the horizon on Ionian Sea. ... more   less
