I'm always a bit apprehensive about B&Bs, but the reviews on TA promised this would be a good experience…and it was a great experience. After a quiet afternoon at Au 36 (see my review), we met Cecile and she checked us into our sweet room as it began to rain. We got to meet the horses, the chickens and just... More

We stayed as a stopover from a Alps ski trip and what a lovely break from the travelling. Cecile is so warm and friendly, a glass of champagne to welcome us, and she helped us with reservations at a local restaurant. The 2 rooms are huge, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is incredible, wonderfully presented and delicious. We... More

We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect ! Nice room with a beautiful view on Epernay, especially at night with all the lights on.The breakfast was excellent (far too much) with some home made yoghourt and jam. It was a pity their Rosé champagne was sold-out but we certainly come back to drink it. What we did like... More

La Chevalee was an awesome place to stay very near to Epernay, home to many of the finest champagne houses in the region. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast in the morning was amazing, and the owners are extremely helpful and welcoming, presenting each guest with a flute of champagne on check in. The little town... More

La Chevalee is a beautiful property with a peaceful garden and view out over the vineyards of Hautvillers. Our charming hotess Cecile greeted us with a glass of her house champagne which was delicious. Additional bottles were available behind the bar for guests. We enjoyed several during our stay! Rocinante, our beautifully appointed room was on the second floor over... More

We stayed here for 1 night in Sep 15. Really wish we could've stayed longer as it was a beautiful propety and the host (Cecile) was amazing. My French is not the best and Cecile was kind enough to converse in very good English. Our room 'La suite Bucéphale' was perfect, full of character, charming and extremely clean. The huge... More

We chose La Chevalee as an overnight stop en route from Provence back to the UK and were delighted with our choice. As others have said, Cecile is charming and we gratefully accepted the glass of the family's champagne. It was really enjoyable, better to our taste than the glass we were given after a trip around Champagne Mercier. Our... More

Fantastic experience, Cecile is a great host, we were made to feel so welcome, glass of champagne on arrival, spacious rand very comfortable room overlooking vineyards towards Epernay. Breakfast was extremely generous and so yummy, meats, cheeses, home made jams. Well located in the wine region, nice quiet village. Secure off street parking and lovely garden to relax and drink... One of the best places I've ever stayed. Spotlessly clean. Huge suite overlooking vineyards and Epernay. Awesome bathroom with big bath, shower, heated towel rail. Lovely scent throughout. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Details really thought about like mirror placement and big, fluffy cotton balls! Breakfast was a massive spread, two meats, three cheeses, four jams, homemade yogurt, three juices, coffee,... More

We could not have received a warmer welcome or been more delighted with our room. Our rooms looks over the valley and we can watch the grapes being picked in the vineyards below. The bathroom is huge with great water pressure in the shower. We have planned this trip from almost a year and could not image a better place... More
