We did not know what to expect in Chateau Chalon. It is a small hill town sitting on the edge of an escarpment overlooking the vines of the Jura. It is old, charming and has spectacular views. Le Relais des Abbesses is part of an old abbey and sits right on the edge of the escarpment providing wonderful views from... More

Chateau Chalon was a highlight of our visit to Jura and our stay at Le Relais des Abbesses contributed in that positive experience. André was extremely helpful upon our arrival to assist us in getting settled into our 2nd floor room (the Marguerite). There was a public parking lot a very short distance away that we used for parking our... More

This is so much more than a hotel, it is a real experience of France. The rooms are fabulous and location is amazing, the village is spectacular and do take the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful food prepared by your hosts in the hotel. We can't wait to return!

We booked this accommodation at the last minute (it was low season) and could not have been happier. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and Agnes was an amazing cook. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had a room on the street side with a huge bay window which was... More

We stayed here just one night because our preferred hotel in the Jura was closed until the following day. It is a lovely house and very comfortable. We had booked in advance and been assured that an evening meal would be served. We were disappointed to be told at 6.45pm that because other guests were all eating out we could... More

Would have loved to stay here but they were full. However the lady phoned another couple of establishments to find me somewhere else. I loved the hotel she found for us, though dear, but it was no match to Le Relais for atmosphere and location. Thank mon abbesse!

This exceptional B+B in a beautifully restored ancient house offers clean, well-appointed rooms. Comfortable bed. We felt the price was well-judged. The location is perfect. What made this the high point of our Jura holiday, however, was the individuality and warmth of the welcome from our hosts, and the truly exceptional quality of the food both at breakfast and at... At the end of a long day driving, we spent the night at this beautiful Chambre d'hote. The welcome was warm, the rooms delightful and comfortable and the food magnificent. Breakfast in the garden was unforgettable.

A huge amount of food lay before us for dinner! Wish we had beenable to make more than a dent in it! We had to make a tour of the village afterwards to digest a tad!...and I am so glad we did. My little girl and I looked at the stars and went about the ancient houses...even got startled by... More

Chateau Chalon is a small tourist town, up high, overlooking the plains of the Jura. And this six room family run B&B , based in part of an old nunnery, has the most magnificent views. Each room has a person's name. We were in Guillaume for four nights, which has windows looking out over the family garden and then on,... More
