The hotel has so much potential but is failing to capitalise on its scenery and provide a lively atmosphere. Navigation through the hotel is tricky and finding your way needs great assistance. The Casino offers more games than other hotels in the district. Its for the quiet folk!

Montclair Casino Hotel, Juliasdale, Zimbabwe is the place to be this festive season. The chilly weather coupled with the resort mountainous scenery views of Nyanga will make your holiday a moment to always remember in your life. Nature at it best

The gardens, swimming pool and exterior are well kept and the rose garden courtyard still there. The interior desperately needs to be repainted. Interior furnishings need to be renewed. We had lunch and it was an average buffet. This hotel has been taken over by the Hala group. (Twinned with the Chimanimani Arms.) Hopefully they will inject much needed funds... More

Being my first time to stay in this hotel, I should say that it is not all that bad (from the reviews I read). From the outside it looks like a very well maintained hotel, good green grounds(went there in the middle of the dry season), welcoming reception staff as well as the front gate fella with his hala Montclair... Montclair Hotel is dire need of investment in refurbishment and repackaging. There has been no improvement in outlook, food nor service. I slept over one night for a conference and the food was woeful, stale if not tasteless. The dining was dingy with poor lighting and staff almost clueless in serving clients. I am glad my family decided not to... More

My family last came to this hotel for dinner about 15 years ago and then it was breathtaking. We were shocked when we booked in for our 2012 family holiday! The hotel is run down, there was no water in the rooms! A borehole pump breakdown, we were told. One had to call the reception for them to bring water in... More

We stayed here quite by accident, having arrived late from Harare and not wanting to drive the half hour to Troutbeck (where we moved in to morning). However sleeping in the car would have been a better option than Montclair. As this is mostly a conference venue, the staff is quite rude and not welcoming to a passer by. The... More

We were very surprised to hear this hotel was given 4 stars! Despite beautiful views from the front, the hotel is very run down and lacks any atmosphere. The staff serving in the dinner hall were friendly and attentive but the set menu was expensive and the food was disappointing. At a lower price overall, this would be a good... More

I have stayed in several hotels in Zimbabwe over the last three years. I am therefore not comparing this place to European or North American hotels, but to other hotels in Zimbabwe. First of all, the place sells itself as a four stars hotel, compared to other hotels, it is not more than 2. I heard it used to be... More
