This was a return visit based on location and excellent value for money last time. Pleased to say things haven't changed. Room rate was spot on, beer was well kept and the food was good value. The odd train does pass by but happy to return to this pub

I was attending an event at the nearby Science Centre. The room was clean and comfortable. The trains, well you know what you are getting when you book to be honest and they pass through very quickly. I used to live backing on a railway line so they were not a problem to me. The owners and staff were very... More

We received a very unfriendly welcome by the owner she looked at my booking form and gave me a lairy look as if the price was wrong or something. The room was fine with a nice bathroom only problem was sleeping with loud trains hurtling past the window. We had an evening meal there and the food was poor the... More

Stayed for a period of 2 weeks last summer and was primarily disappointed by the cold and unfriendly service, with the staff/owners sometimes being on the verge of rudeness. When booking the place, I was aware of its location and hence I knew I was signing up for train noise during nights and therefore that does not add to my... More

I saw this pub/hotel on the net when I was in London on business on Wednesday and thought it a good idea to stay as I was going to Kenilworth the next day. I wasn't disappointed. I arrived fairly late, and the kitchen was closed but the landlady made me some excellent sandwiches. There was an excellent choices of ales... More

Went there on a group outing and both my wife and I ordered the lamb shank and apple pie to follow. The place was dead for a Saturday night, we were the only customers and it all felt a bit soulless. The food arrived on cold plates swimming in greasy watery gravy. The shank was the smallest I've ever seen... More

Great location right on the train station and short walk to Culham science centre. Very clean, bright and modern room. Decor etc not fully modern but very good for the price bracket. Good breakfast in the morning. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Downsides would be some noise from the trains (as expected when you're at the station!),... More

Having visited the Railway inn I found it the perfect spot to eat and drink, The food can't be faulted the beer is A 1 and although we did not stop the room and public spaces are the top's. Put this together with a very friendly and attentive staff it is a great place to go.

We stayed here for a night whilst visiting my son in Abingdon. The directions state 2.2 miles from Abingdon which was spot on even if it felt slightly longer. Prior to our arrival the hotel called me to make sure the way the beds were made up would be ok. I had booked for 3, myself, husband and daughter, they... More

Booked this accommodation over the internet as friends were hosting party in Abingdon. What a marvellous little find. Fabulous reception - and celebrating a wedding in hotel at the same time? - we were led outside and upstairs to a loft room with a huge ceiling window. Double bed with small adequate en suite. directly outside our room was a... More
