Stayed in garden room. Large room and comfortable bed, across from main building. Very quiet. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Both bedroom and bathroom were clean, but bedroom carpet stained in a couple of places (though did not look too dangerous). Chinese food was good value and good food, breakfast fairly plain, but freshly cooked (fresh coffee). Friendly... More

An ideal base for discovering Dorchester and the Thames Path. Our host Mary could not have been more helpful with tourist advice and she was delightful company all evening. The meal in the adjoining chinese restaurant was excellent, an enjoyable stay in a lovely country pub. More

Prettier in the photos than real life but this is a cosy Pub / B&B / Chinese Restaurant. Easy enough to find it is 200 metres to the River Thames and made a perfect location for Thames Path walking being 13+ miles downstream to Goring and the same upstream to Oxford. We had Room 3 which was large with its... More

I cannot recommend this place enough - We went on the off chance to the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Simply put, the hosts are fantastic fun, the chinese food is the best in I've tasted outside Hong Kong, amazingly fresh - The prawn toasts were huge, stacked with prawns, the satays fresh breast meat, again really fresh, singapore noodles... This was our first stay at the Plough, we normally stay in Dorchester but the hotels there are now pricing themselves out our marketplace. This hotel is equal to any we have stayed in before in beautiful southern Oxfordshire. The Chinese restaurant was excellent as was the service. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will visit again in the future. More

We had a bit of trouble finding this as it didn't show up on the Sat Nav, but you just need to go a bit further up the main road than feels comfortable and you get there. Its a lovely place, good value for money. We stayed in room 5 with vaulted ceiling, beams, 4 poster bed. The owners could... More

Basically if you are staying in the area and dont like souless chain hotels this is a good bet. The couple that own it are brilliant, really hospitable and friendly. Food is good, room is nice and you feel really welcome. Attitude summed up by a guy walking in to the pub asking for help with his car, the owner... More

We booked on short notice. Were made to feel very welcome as soon as we got there. Nothing was to much. We stayed in the 4 poster bed room which was spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The en suite was a large wet room. Set in an idyllic setting - super for walks and local sites. Village is beautiful.... More

Very friendly locals, excellent Chinese food, John and Mary are from that part of the world originally. A good selection of beers and lager etc including real ale. Clean functional rooms, mine had... My colleague and I stayed here overnight for a business trip. We received a lovely, warm welcome and I was taken to a gorgeous large bedroom with high beams and a beautiful 4 poster bed. The room was lovely and warm and the shower was hot and powerful!! Both rooms were spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the pub restaurant... More
