Lots of reasons this place is worth a night or two during a visit to Saxon Transylvania. It's got a rich, medieval layout complete with stone wall, patio, courtyard, lots of old-world antiques lining the interior, sheepskin covers on the bar chairs and a view of the old fortress up on the hillside behind Saschiz. We stayed one night during... More

We stay for 2 nights and we love the inside yard and the place. We stay during a trip to the Fortified Churches in this area. In this place you will find a lot of antiques stuff something like an expo. The room is located in the backyard and is quiet zone because the hotel is located on the main... More

Being the second option for accommodation in Saschiz and the cheaper one, if you are lucky to get a room with the citadel and back courtyard view, definitely go for it!! As for my opinion, the offered food from the restaurant must be improved: more traditional and organic food if it is possible... And a message for Lidia (the owner),... More

Come to Saschiz for business trips mainly but always try to get a room here. Very attentive staff. Draught beer (Ciuc halba) and good food. Perfect. Saschiz has beautiful attractions and a state of the art preserve facility. Worth a visit.

I was there for a one-day trip, in order to visit the citadel and the tower. We got the lunch there. The courtyard is great; my 4-years old daughter had a good time following their rabbits. But food was medium (e.g., my schnitzel was chewy). Than we ask to see a room for a further visit, they recommend us to... More

Stayed here for a night during our trip through Transilvania. Though it was the only choice in the area and didn't have much expectations about it, it was a good one after all. The accommodation is basic, you get what you pay for and that's fine, all fair. It is right in the city center, next to the fortified church,... More

Another great visit to Saschiz and thankyou to all the staff for looking after us so well. The food was as good as ever and it was good to sit outside and watch life pass by. Good to have English tea for breakfast every day. See you again soon.

I am a regular resident and can thoroughly recommend Hanul Cetatii as a base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The food is traditional Romanian cuisine and always well cooked and presented. The bar and pavement terrace are family friendly and many drop in for a coffee or a soft drink. In the summer families are often seen playing... More

Definitely a five star experience and although I was only able to spare two nights I was wonderfully well looked after. Beautiful Spring weather added to my enjoyment. For reasonably priced, quiet, comfortable accommodation you cannot beat this pension. Also whilst you are there, check out the Transylvania Food Co 1km away where you can taste products or buy home... More
