A wonderful old English country inn, set in a picturesque village. Dave, Linda and Trigger the dog were fantastic hosts. We spent one night here, but it felt like so much longer - for all the right reasons! It felt like a real escape, deep in the country, surrounded by rolling hills and paths to walk for hours. The locals... More

After a last minute booking we really didn't know what to expect but was extremely surprised and happy that we decided to stay in the Crown Inn. Could not fault this quaint and quirky true English tavern. The landlord Dave, is very knowledgeable and serves great local ale and if he likes you he will share his secret sloe gin... More

What a fab place! Booked as a last minute deal for my Boyfriend and I and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in Room 3 and it was lovely! Really nice bedding and really nicely decorated including a pretty sassy 400 years old mirror from Hampton Palace apparently! Had a lovely evening talking to Dave behind the bar and... More

Had a wonderful away from it all night at the Crown - Linda & David were fabulous hosts and Trigger their dog is the best. Wonderful meal, I chose the pheasant and my friend the steak, both beautiful cooked with fresh vegetables. Lovely clean room with adequate shower/toilet with complimentary shower gel, shampoo etc. Left early so unable to take... More

A quintessential English country pub. Thatched roof, inglenook fireplace with open fires, low ceilings, creaky floor boards , friendly dog and welcoming landlords. Set in beautiful countryside with lots of good walks and places to visit. It is also dog welcoming. This pub is a great place to stay for a few days. It is cosy and welcoming. Dave is... More

This was a lucky find as we had been directed to other eateries and couldnt understand why this one hadnt been mentioned. We subsequently were told that reports on the food had varied. Well, we obviously struck lucky on a dark and stormy night. My companions had Steak pie, a Pasta dish and I had just cheesy chips and garlic... More

We stayed here Monday to Thursday, but ended up wishing we could have stayed longer. The rooms are homely and very reasonably priced. The meals we ate were delicious across the board, with the highlights being the fish/ steak and ale pie, and the Barnsley chop. We ended each day back at the pub, always being welcomed with a friendly... More

We have just returned from a two night stay, Dave and Linda give you a very warm welcome and Trigger the dog is there with a friendly wagging tail too. The food was well cooked and served with a smile. Our room was a good size and although over the bar was not too noisy. However, what let the room... More

Stayed here over the weekend. Overall everything was excellent! The building has plenty of charm, it does not have the biggest rooms but they are well decored and spotlessly clean! Food is excellent! Everything well seasoned and cooked perfectly, the beers were good and the wine selection great for my other half. Beautiful large garden which is extremely well maintained!... More
