I can't rate this beautiful little pub more highly. An overnight weekend stay here makes you feel you've been on holiday for a week - it's so quiet and peaceful, hidden away in the countryside, with loads of great walks and stunning views nearby. The food and beers are great and plentiful and the hosts couldn't be more hospitable -... More

A picture-postcard of an inn (15th century?), way out in the sticks (beautiful countryside), but you can entirely believe the overwhelmingly good (previous) reviews. The owners work so hard at making their guests comfortable, and deserve every praise they get - thank you!! We only stayed one night, and being Sunday morning, strolled the very quiet village before breakfast. A... More

I recently went here with my family for an evening meal, and it was wonderful. They had a great menu (veg and non-veg) and although we had a odd order they didn't blink an eye. In fact our host was very welcoming and I just wish i could remember her name, i really can't praise this place enough.

Tucked away deep in the countryside a few miles west of Salisbury, this is a gem of a place to stay brimming with 'olde worlde' character. Friendly and helpful owners, good drinks and hearty breakfast. Didn't have evening meal so can't comment on that.

We found this hotel by chance. Stunning! Hosts are wonderful and very helpful. The place is full of character and the drive there is great! Trigger the dog is a smoother and likes to be patted. The rooms are small but have everything you need and the nice hot shower was a welcome relief after being stuck on the A36... More

Lovely old pub in an idilic spot BUT the people running it were miserable and VERY unwelcoming . We left and had a lovely warm welcome from the Horseshoe down the Lane , had lunch there and it was fab.

A wonderful old English country inn, set in a picturesque village. Dave, Linda and Trigger the dog were fantastic hosts. We spent one night here, but it felt like so much longer - for all the right reasons! It felt like a real escape, deep in the country, surrounded by rolling hills and paths to walk for hours. The locals... More

After a last minute booking we really didn't know what to expect but was extremely surprised and happy that we decided to stay in the Crown Inn. Could not fault this quaint and quirky true English tavern. The landlord Dave, is very knowledgeable and serves great local ale and if he likes you he will share his secret sloe gin... More

What a fab place! Booked as a last minute deal for my Boyfriend and I and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in Room 3 and it was lovely! Really nice bedding and really nicely decorated including a pretty sassy 400 years old mirror from Hampton Palace apparently! Had a lovely evening talking to Dave behind the bar and... More

Had a wonderful away from it all night at the Crown - Linda & David were fabulous hosts and Trigger their dog is the best. Wonderful meal, I chose the pheasant and my friend the steak, both beautiful cooked with fresh vegetables. Lovely clean room with adequate shower/toilet with complimentary shower gel, shampoo etc. Left early so unable to take... More
