I visited the hotel on 14th March 2014, it is clean and well presented has a nice bar and restaurant which is unusual for a budget hotel. The staff are helpful, polite and welcoming my room was large, clean, quiet and had everything I needed. I cannot find fault with the hotel, the staff or the price I paid, I... More

Bedroom was basic, but bed was extremely comfortable. Small TV with poor sound. Hotel was rowdy on the Saturday night, but staff had kept a section quiet, which was very thoughtful of them. Breakfast on Sunday was lukewarm, well, the eggs and baked beans were, but better on the Monday. Otherwise excellent, and I suppose you get what you pay... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of a stop over on the way to Scotland. We loved Newcastle and had a great afternoon and evening!! Unfortunately the hotel wasn't the same. The room was very tired. The furniture was old and the carpet could do with replacing. The bed sunk in the middle although the bedding was fresh and... More

I found the staff very helpful and the bar offered a great range. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was just what you need first thing to start your day. I would return to this hotel in future.

Stayed at this hotel last week as we went to see a band at a local pub in north Shields, we have stayed here before and found it pleasant and convenient to where we needed to be, very close to public transport into Newcastle,North Shields and or Whitley bay (£2.50 return). The hotel is a basic no frills hotel the... More

Avoid Newcastle Silverlink at all costs, particularly if you enjoy and expect a comfortable, warm room and a fresh breakfast with good choice. When you arrive it looks very welcoming, but the rooms are cold, only one pillow is provided per person (more on request), duvet is thin and too small and breakfast comprises just sausage, bacon (thin and tasteless),... Stayed 2 nights with a group of gymnasts and their parents who were in a competition nearby. Hotel was generally quite shabby and the lift didn't work on our second day. The room was quite a large family room with enough room for 2 adults and 2 children but was also quite shabby. The shower was a trickle and 2... More

Travel lodge was clean and tidy, cheap and convenient. Quality of mattress was ok but could have been better. Breakfast was good but next time I would probably walk across the road to the retail park for the usual variety of restaurants serving breakfast at cheaper prices found on retail parks.

Stopped here for one night in February, if it were for more than one night then I would have found somewhere else. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment to raise standards and cleanliness. No issues with the staff, only the facilities. The walls in the room I was in were covered in marks, the dust under the TV... More
