We stayed for three nights last week, the Hotel was spotless, very busy and perfectly located. We were in room no: 9 which overlooked a very pleasant walled beer garden with comfortable seating. The room was deceptively large and had an extra king size bed and was the most comfortable bed I've slept in ( apart from my own ).... More

Stayed at the George for 5 nights and it was very nice. Stayed in the twin room and it had a lot of character but was a little small. The bathroom is private but is across the hall and you have to leave your room to access it. This is not a big problem and the bathroom is adequate. The... More

I stayed here on 13th July for one night in a twin room. GOOD POINTS The bar and restaurant area is lovely and modern, with a welcoming and calming atmosphere. The food we ate was delicious! A little bit on the expensive side, but gorgeously created. It was good to see a few different dishes to most other gastro pubs... More

living in Nunney I make frequent use of the pub and under the current owners it has become the major centre of the village. Whilst we might smile at the pretensions of a self appointed "Gastro Pub" it provides perfectly good pub food and a convivial place to meet ones friends. I was doing this the other day when a... This place is very like a Weatherspoons in feel and type of food, yet they charge over twice the price and serve the food on chopping boards, calling themselves a 'gastro pub'. This name couldn't be further from the truth. Our sharing platter consisted of 2 slices of ham, 2 slices of beef, 2 slices of cheese some undressed salad... More

We visit here quite often and the resturant and the bar are allways excellent - however we came with friends (also staying) this time and i felt the rooms needed quite some attention The shower clip/ support was broken in our room and the bed runner at the end of the bed was so so smelly we put it in... Thank you for your review, it is sad for us to see that this time we didn't get 5 stars from you as per your previous 2 reviews, but having read your review I totally understand why you gave us 4 stars. I can only apolgise about the shower clip, it was replaced the next day however and we do... More

We have stayed at The George hotel, Nunney previously. It is in a delightful village setting with a river running thro, and old castle opposite you can visit. The garden area is charming and the food and service were excellent. It is very convenient for exploring the surrounding Somerset countryside, which has some lovely villages and scenery. We will be... More

I have visited this pub twice in the last 2 months with different groups of people. The first time i was impressed with the interior of the pub as hadn't visited since it was an old fashioned pub years ago. Its undergone a great transformation and looks great inside. Booked table for 7:30 for 6 of us. We were out... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us. Whilst I am very pleased to hear you not only loved the food, and the lovely ambiance we have created here at The George, I am sad that the service was not up to our usual levels on both occasions. Due to the fact we are so busy so early in... More

My husband and I stopped here for a drink with friends one Sunday lunchtime. It seemed a lovely place and the food looked very good. So far, so good. My husband was charged £9.50 for a pint of beer (Wadworths 6X) and an ordinary white wine spritzer. We talked about this as we were drinking and I decided to ask... More

I am sorry to hear you were not entirely happy experience with us here at The George. I have had a talk with our restaurant and bar manager who was on duty on the day you came in and he does recall the situation. He advised me you ordered a white wine spritzer (Medium Pinot @ £4.75 + soda £0.75)... More
