The hotel is set in its own grounds overlooking Chambery. The entrance is quite low profile and the parking arrangements are not ideal, especially when some residents insist on overnight parking in front of hotel which makes loading and unloading difficult. Met by enthusiastic but slightly amateurish reception staff, no evidence of a manager, but shown to room which was... More

Specious rooms, good size and deep swimming pool and friendly people. The view was amazing. The weather was fabulous to dine outside. All the dishes were carefully prepared and delicious. We loved the time there.

My wife and I have just had 3 days in the Chateau de Candie, room 108. This is our second stay here and will undoubtedly not be the last. The chateau is located about 3 miles outside of Chambery, but very easy to drive to, it is about an hours walk if you feel energetic going up the hill. The... More

Perhaps it's not fair to judge this visit on Tripadvisor as it was (for summer) a cool and rainy experience. Still, I'll deal with all the elements that will be of most interest WITHIN the property. Our spacious and high ceilinged bedroom was nicely furnished, although the double bed was a little smaller than others we had slept in on... More

We stayed for 2 nights for a friend's wedding, with the reception being held here. It's a beautiful setting and well presented place. Lovely gardens, surrounded by vineyard and woodlands, an immaculate pool, clean rooms and comfortable beds & furniture. The catering was fantastic so I can only imagine that the Orangerie restaurant is equally good. We didn't have any... More

We recently stayed here overnight with some friends whilst on a driving holiday thorough the French countryside. Overall we enjoyed our stay, comfortable, spacious rooms with a good view. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was of a high standard very nouvelle cuisine style but very enjoyable with good service and wine. Breakfast was ok, although despite the... More

Big room, beautifully decorated, friendly welcome and great price. Bathtub with handheld shower is a challenge if you want to avoid soaking the floor. Delicious homemade continental breakfast worth the money - no hot food. Cos we stayed in October the weather was a bit dicey and the pool was closed so can't comment on that!

We have stayed here three times now, totally satisfied with the accommodation. Staff efficient and attentive. The hotel is based on a former elegant chateau home and displays all the character you would expect. We'll be back.

We requested a dinner reservation when we booked our room well in advance and 2 days before we were due to arrive got an email saying dinner not possible with no clear reason why. An email that wouldn't allow a response. When I phoned they first of all said fully booked but when I queried the length of time to... More
