Stayed here on our GR5 hike. We arrived in Briancon via our hike. Mike came and picked us up and brought us back to this amazing chalet like home. The entire place is cozy and feels like home. The bedroom and bath are very clean. He will help make reservations into the best restaurants in town and take you as... More

Stayed here for one night in July 2015 with my wife on a Euro road trip. We have stayed in the area skiing but wanted to come back and see what it was like in the summer. This place is a Gem, Mike & Helen, our hosts are brilliant. The Lodge is fantastic, the room are 5 star and would... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Chez Bear! Micheal was friendly from the first email and the overall service was excellent. He even offered to drive us into town for dinner! Breakfast was fantastic. I would love to visit again in winter as the rooms overlook the stunning valley of Briancon.

We arrived at Chez Bear during a terrific thunderstorm and subsequent power cut but Michael made us very welcome and even drove us into town so we could have some dinner (and collected us). The room had a great view over Briancon and a comfy bed. Having just a curtain between the bedroom area and toilet/shower might not be to... More

We happened across Chez Bear in the shoulder season and found it a great place to rest from touring the alps. The hosts welcomed us and made us a part of the family, gave us tips of where to go in Briancon and how to best enjoy the lodge and the old walled city. We sat out and enjoyed a... More

Staying at Chez Bear Ski Lodge was a special treat. The lodge is a warm and wonderful work of art, beautifully constructed and decorated like a cross between a ski lodge and a British Pub. Our GPS guided us through the town or we would have struggled to locate Chez Bear. We were welcomed by Mike, who gave us a... More

Absolutely beautiful, amazing construction and great hosts. So far the high light of our motorcycle trip around the Alps and Italy. You feel as if you never want to leave, it's that cozy, even in summer! Mike is SO accommodating, nothing seems to be a problem, every request is greeted with a smile. He even gave us a lift to... A wonderful base for our cycle weekend where we stayed for 4 nights. Great hospitality in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended. Fabulous breakfasts and great coffee set us up perfectly for the mountain climbs. Chez Bear is in a quiet location about 2kms from Briancon and Mike provided an excellent taxi service so we could sample the local restaurants for... More

This has to be one of the best catered chalets in the resort of Serre Chevalier. From being collected at Turin Airport to being dropped back seven days later there was nothing too much of a problem for our hosts Helen & Mike. Where to start….. Helens cookery skills - Absolutely fantastic, not your usual Lasagna or Spag Bol pasta... More
