This hotel has certainly seen better times, it definetely needs some renovation. I paid 30 $ for a single room that was very basic. There was only a simple door lock to my room and as a single traveling woman I felt quite unsafe, especially as there were a couple of male guests drinking inside the hotel. There is no... More

As a backpacker, I am used to staying in quite basic, inexpensive accommodation. Hotel Europa was basic and expensive however. I had travelled from a lovely, friendly cheap hostel and found myself in a very unfriendly, unhelpful environment. The room wasn't ready-rugs on the bed, no towel and a very small, old, inaccessible TV! I was catching a 6:30 am... More

This hotel was fine for a one-day stopover to visit the devil's Nose railway. The room was spartan, but clean. The staff were courteous but have little english. They don't do breakfast but there is an excellent little restaurant immediately opposite, just to the left of the bus station, that does good basic cooking all day and very cheaply. No... More

We stayed here for one night for a Devil's Nose train ride. Before booking a room, we read various review comments on this hostal. Half of the review comments were not good and another half were o.k. So, we gave it a try. We booked a room with a private bathroom. The room was o.k. for a night stay. It... More

I don't always denounce staff, but when I do, it has to be the staff from the Hotel Europa! The guy on the reception desk asked me when I was taking this "Nariz del Diabolo"-train. I told him, I was an early bird and would catch the first train. In the morning I counted my money because I didn't like... More

Our room was Not so spacy as expected. My understanding for clean is also another. Wifi is very slow. The stop the water in the night and if there were People in the toilettes during the night - you can imagine how you find the Place early in the morning.

Stayed here 1 gut beer getting up for the devils nose. For eight dollars it was perfect. Clean sheets, towels and working wifi. No breakfast bt there's a bakery 2 doors down which is great. Doesn't deserve the bad reviews at all.

Stayed here whilst we did the devil nose train ride. I didnt experience any problems with the staff only speaking spanish we managed to communicate just fine. We paid $16 for a room with a share bathroom. We have room 2 and its was cosy and clean with plenty of blankets. In the morning there was no water coming out... More

Small rooms with little space for luggage. Woodwork rotting and mould on bathroom walls. Bathroom floor constantly wet. Nice view from the balcony. Much noise of cars leaving at night ws disturbing. Cars peaked so tightly very difficult to get out. Overpriced for the standard.

I have rarely read such wildly varying reviews than for this hotel. Some reviews seem so harsh I really wonder whether something unpleasant has happened to the reviewer, but not to do with hotel! Alausi is a smallish country rail town that you stay in to do the Devils Nose train ride. Do not therefore expect some sort of idyllic... More
