This is potentially a beautiful hotel but the service lets it down. We arranged an overnight stay with dinner and a cream tea for 13th August. The cream tea was very nice except we had to keep asking for more tea which seemed to be rationed, strange for a cream 'tea'. The room was average and had a welcome letter... More

We went to a really lovely wedding and booked a family room as part of that party but the room was really disappointing. The shower was a really pathetic drizzle and the bathroom window was rotten and the frame was about to fall out of the wall!

We booked via Secret Escapes and upon arrival were given Chestnut Cottage .. absolutely fab! Huge bedroom, big bathroom and separate sitting room which opened up onto the grounds with it's own patio table and chairs. Thorough enjoyed our stay, and found all staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. Grounds are beautiful and hopefully we will be returning for... More

Just back from an excellent stay at the Ghyll Manor Hotel. Very friendly staff at reception and this carried on through the whole stay with all staff making our stay that more welcoming. Large cream tea on arrival was part of the package which even I couldn't finish, tea or coffee and four cakes each with a big pot of... More

I've had two-night stays in Ghyll Manor twice on business trips in the last fortnight. It's my favourite hotel anywhere: quaint and full of character, with very comfortable rooms and excellent facilities. The grounds are extensive and beautifully maintained - it feels like being a personal guest in a country manor house (as it is!). For me, the most impressive... More

Ghyll Manor is a great wedding venue with good sized function rooms. We stayed in a superior double room which was nicely decorated with trouser press, TV and tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was in one of the dining rooms and lots of choice served at the table. Quality overall was good but during the evening reception and at breakfast... More

We stayed at Ghyll Manor in August 2014 and had a lovely stay. The hotel is beautifully presented and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We paid an upgrade and stayed in the Mahogany Room. The room was large, traditionally appointed, exceptionally clean and very comfortable with a big bathroom, sitting area and a very comfortable bed. We had afternoon... More
