We wanted to experience staying for two nights in the Chirripo mountains and so we chose the Talamanca Reserve. Unfortunately it was one of our least favorite stops and by far the most important expensive. The hotel was a bit bizarrely decorated and laid out. The main lobby has an "identity crisis" with mismatched furniture, flags all over, a ping... More

We had a very clean well decorated chalet. Kenneth, our host and manager of Talamanca, took very good care of us. He made us feel at home, took us on a beautiful, informative ATV excursion, and treated us like gold. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the staff are all polite and made us feel special. Talamanca is... More

If you are looking for a fantastic family experience in the mountains, this is the place! Kenneth and his staff are outstanding and look after your every need. Highly recommend reserving the ATV tour, unless you are a seasoned hiker. Great trails and water falls. Jeffery in the kitchen prepares excellent soups and meals. Well worth the trip!

Before our hike to Chirippo, we slept in the clean cabins, had a rich, excellent dinner and dessert infront of a fire. We got all the information from the helpful staff. How to be better prepared. The garden is well kept and has nice flowers. Thank you.

We arrived at Talamanca after staying at another place down the road and were so happy to have found it! The staff was amazing and super welcoming, the rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean. We are two adult sisters traveling with our parents and we had 2 rooms with a great patio area in between, perfect for hanging out together.... More

If you love the out doors, hiking, waterfalls, birds, great food, amazing service and nice rooms, you will love Talamanca Reserve. As travel planners we love finding new and wonderful places to talk about and share Talamanca statues stand on both sides of the entrance greeting you. When you first walk into the reception/dinning/ entertainment room you notice a lot... More

We intentionally visited T.R. to join beautiful countryside with alpine tour to Chirripo. Kenneth manager TR shown extraordinary kindness and support, including information, logistics and genuine interest for our comfort and food. A typical breakfast gallo Pinto - typical breakfast, rice, beans with onions and spices fried in oil. Made with scrambled eggs. Serve with tortillas and sour cream. Likewise... More

Bettina and I just returned after 1 year and found the place even more to like. The food and service were both great. Kenneth the manager was a part of the staff and made the connection and the service as good as could be expected. We booked a tour and will go on friday. Joel

We (family of 5) traveled 15 days trough Costa Rica, visiting Uvita, Matapalo, Corcovado National Park and, finally, the Talamanca Reserve. This was by far my favorite place - just blew me away. It starts out like a lush botanical garden in a tropical wonderland, with ancient looking statues evoking memories of Mayan or Indian art. Somebody had a really... More

This hotel is on a 4000acre (1600 hectors) property with a well developed trail system as good or better than most national parks. Waterfalls and big trees on Pacific slope mid elevation (1500 to 2000 meters) trails. The staff and the food are also excellent. Richard Tandlich, Heredia, Costa Rica
