I spent 9 days at Berraco del Madidi in June 2015, and enjoyed every bit of it. You will not find a more wildlife-rich area in all of South America, and this professionally run operation is the ultimate in thoughtful, low-key eco-tourism - very affordable, extremely conservation-conscious and really comfortable. The people are excellent, the food is great, the setting... More

Seven of my friends and I stayed here in May 2013. Our tour guide, Pedro, was passionate about the animals and the rainforest and took great care in teaching us about them. The accommodation is really lovely for 'camping', the food was delicious and cooked with love. The location is set deep in the Amazon and the facilities have been... More

The camp side is half a day by boat away from Rurrenabaque, which really puts its away from the mainstream tourism. Once arrived on site, you are welcomed in a great accomodation (safe and so on,...) but it still really feels like in the jungle. It's really the good mix of wild and civilisation. The staff is amazingly gentle and... More

We spent 5 days at Berraco del Madidi with our 2 girls of 5 and 8 last year. We had wanted something immersive and to feel we were really away from it all. We had a family platform with two tents on that could be well zipped up to keep the bugs out. There were comfortable mattresses, proper sheets and... More

I'm sad to say that this did not meet our expectations. They do a great job with what they do offer, but in my opinion it's simply not what is advertised on the website. I say I'm "sad" because I really want them to succeed given how the owner comes from a local village, but I need to be honest... More

It takes 6 hours up-river to reach the eco-camp and it is undeniably worth the journey! Along the way we saw Capybara and beautiful views of the rainforest. The camp is extremely remote which is ideal for seeing wildlife. Our tent was spotless and more comfortable than most of the hostels we had stayed in! We had complete privacy and... More

I love how small this eco-camp is (maximum capacity:8 ppl). I travelled alone here and I got my personal guide Leo who has spent his whole life in the jungle and knows all animals by just a glimpse, their sound and smell. As a city girl, I was amazed by everything this camp can offer: healthy food, exciting jungle adventures,... More

We had a fantastic seven days in the jungle. Full credit to our guide William who despite the language barrier more than made up for it by his lively freindly nature and expertise in the jungle. William grew up in this area and learnt everything about the jungle from his Dad who is also a guide and his uncle who... More

My husband and I shopped around the agencies in Rurrenabaque and decided on Berraco Del Madidi and were very happy with our choice. The camp, facilities and meals were of very high standard, everything was immaculate and the meals were absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful guide (Orlando) who was very personable spoke good English and was very knowledgeable about... More
