I was part of a large group that visited this ecolodge recently. We visited Chalalan as part of a two week trip to Bolivia and Peru. None of us had visited a place like it before and we weren't sure what to expect. I have to say I was kind of concerned when I found out we would be taking... More

We found Chalalan very well run with professional and attentive staff. We came out of this trip with a big smile. 1. Boat trip - 5 hrs upstream, 3 hrs downstream. Staff know what they are doing and we felt safe all throughout. There were stops in some islands if needed. Served lunch before arriving. 2. 2km walk after boat... More

This was the second time we visited. Both times with children. Saw many many animals (Eagle, Macaws, 3 types monkeys, many birds, herds of wild pigs, spiders etc etc.). Also took the optional visit to the community in San José de Uchupiamonas which was a truely wonderful experience where the community leaders really treated us as special guests and gave... More

Great Location! Wonderful lake in the middle of the Jungle - Nice, but short trails, wonderful flora and fauna! On the other hand it feels a bit touristy with gravel stone paths in the jungle (which make noise) ... But what amazing night walks and fauna!!!! Incredible.

The title of this review is more about the challenge of getting to the lodge rather than the lodge itself or its staff. Our boat trip upstream to the lodge took four and a half hours (not three as described in the tourist literature) and the river itself was quite wild. Wild with floating debris, rapids, whirlpools, sand banks and... More

We spent four days at the Chalalan Ecolodge and had an amazing experience. The boat ride up the river and into the jungle was exciting and full of birds and reptiles. Our boat crew was very competent and kind. At the lodge, we ate delicious and healthy meals, learned about local traditions, and swam in the excellent lake. Our guide,... More

The boat trip was adventureous, but the captain drove the boat savely during the five hours trip. We saw sloats and capybaras. Unfortunatley it rained often during our stay in Chalan. Nevertheless our guide walked with us trough the jungle and helped us discover several birds. The landscape was unique. The food was tasty and the people friendly.

Chalalan provides a wonderful experience of the Amazon rainforest centred on a comfortable and attractive lakeside camp deep in the forest Initially set up with the help of a US charitable trust who also provided staff training, but now run by the indigenous community, it is an eco-friendly project carefully designed to avoid any damage to its unique and strongly... We had a great experience at chalalan lodge. Our guide Allejandro Alvarez was very knowledgeable, friendly and full of stories. The boatrip to the lodge is already amazing, wear long pants though because of possible sandflies on the riverbank when you stop for lunch. The cabins are spacious as is the common dining area. There are many trails for long... More

The place takes your breath away, there are few cabins around a lake, if you wake up at 6am, the lake is covered with mist, it's absolutely beautiful. The people are lovely and passionate, the food is delicious. You can discover the surroundings with a guide, see a lot of exotic animals or simply enjoy the hammocks in every cabin.
