Great Nature with many possibilities to observe animals. Many ways in the forest to walk. This was really great. But the standard of the Lodge (rooms, meals) is not in proportion to the price. The lodges have to renovate and have to clean better. The mosquito nets in the Lodges are not always close. There are only cold water.

This locally-run initiative was pleasure to visit. The service was friendly and obliging, the guides knowledgeable, accommodation perfect and setting picturesque. Although a lengthy trip by river, I recommend this option if you are seeking a remote, peaceful and comfortable experience amongst mature tropical rainforest. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Really great place! It is one of the pricier places in the area, but for us it was worth it. The location is really beautiful, next to a lake. The trip there is very interesting, and makes you feel quite remote. 6 hours by small boat upstream, and then another 30mins walking. We stayed 3 days, but would have definitely... More

I have been to Chalalan three times-once in the early years of its development in early 2000s, and in July 2015. It needs sprucing up in terms of the physical structures, and has lost some of the passion of the early years, which was fueled by Conservation International and their initial infusion of funding. However, it is still an excellent... More

We had four authentic days with the Quecua people in Madidi National Park at Chalalan. Our individual guide was knowledgeable, low key and very keen to share his world of experience with us. Our cabin was spacious, private, well screened and clean. The meals were excellent and plentiful. Chalalan's setting is idyllic and the boat trip up and down the... More

The position of the Chalalan Ecolodge is absolut perfect for a nature lover. It is in the center of the Madidi NP and is located in a fantastic tropical rainforest. To wake up in the morning to the sounds of the Howler monkeys. To take a short morning walk to the lake and listen to the waking up of the... More

The stay in Chalalan ecologie was wonderful. The people weten very friendly and were well educatie and could tell a lot about the nature and animals there. The food was excellent and went above our expectations. The rooms were very romantic although the humidity was high. The journey to and fris the lodge alone is worthwhile the trip. So if... More

A wonderful retreat in the Amazon Basin, secluded and well run. Informative guides and a place to stay and enjoy the animals passing through the courtyard. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and with mosquito nets. The food is amazing and usually way too much. The nearby laguna is a good viewpoint for all kinds of birds and caymans.

From the moment we were in the hands of the Chalalan Ecolodge associates, we wanted for nothing. The canoe crew was professional, safe, and highly skilled, the cabins were beautiful, the food was consistently delicious and interesting, and the setting is a paradise. Above all, the staff is truly world class. Our guide, Juan Carlos, was phenomenal. His intimate knowledge... More

The lodge was a 5 hour boat trip up the river from Rurre. This ensured our visit was right in the NP. We had a great 4 days. The staff at the lodge were friendly and the entire lodge was very professionally run. Our guide Carlos was excellent, a good english speaker and informative. We saw birds, 4/6 species of... More
