Pros: -Although we did see rat traps, we saw no actual rats like other visitors mentioned. -view is gorgeous! -reef breaks waves and maybe keeps sharks out? I don't know but I liked to think that. -close to north shore attractions (which are snorkeling, turtles, etc) -outdoor shower -bbq outside Cons: not a con for us but do not stay... More

The condo we stayed in had wonderful views of the ocean and the early morning sunrises. We were 30 feet from the beach and could fall asleep to the sounds of the waves. Condo was quaint, with slightly dated furnishings but is well worth it for the calm and relaxed atmosphere. Great for a quiet family vacation with a private... More

It is not possible to write the same sort of review for a unit at Pat's at Punalu'u as one might for a hotel because the units (a great many) are privately owned by many different people. This is the sort of place to stay if one does not wish to spend too much money, is interested in exploring the... More

The unit is a cute bungalow , the sound of the surf is wonderful ,you can see it out your indoor lanai. There are new windows ,so you have plenty of air, there are 2 ceiling fans to circulate the air. The unit is small, 2 people fit nicely. There are a lot of extras you don't find in other... More

Pats at Punaluu is a great place to stay with a family. Located near the North Shore it's easy to go either direction and find great places to visit. Well maintained condo on a private beach. Ours was 1 bedroom with a nice fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, living room area with pull out couch bed. They also brought... More

As first time vacationers to Hawaii we booked a place unseen that we thought looked promising. Upon arrival, the conditions were so bad we asked for our money back, they refused, so we walked away and got a motel. We became aware of Pats via some friends and called for help in finding someplace to stay for the rest of... More

Family stayed March 2015. Betty (property manager) was was quick to reply to emails/questions and returned the deposit in a timely manner. Stayed in #510 (VRBO 99196) - all units are individually owned/decorated/furnished. As for the condo...to us, the unit and complex seemed tired and worn. Security cameras all around the complex as well as security stationed overlooking the parking... More

We were taken away by what we found! We stayed in Unit 312 and it was perfect. We had a great beach front view and watched several sun rises that were breath taking. The kitchen proved to be more then needed as we cooked many meals and enjoyed a beautiful lanai to eat every meal on. The bedroom was roomy... More

This review is for Unit 605. All of the units are different, and as many have cautioned, you should choose carefully. By far the best thing about the condo is the view of the sea. It can be magical. At night, the full moon's reflection on the water is the stuff of postcards. You will have the beach practically to... More

My fiance and I stayed in Unit 312 with Betty of Paradise by The Sea Vacation Rentals. Our expectations were set high, based on the pictures she sent us. We wanted to rent a specific unit but that it was unavailable. The condo 312, wasn't listed on VRBO, but based on the pictures she sent us, again, we THOUGHT 312... More
