We were visiting our friend in Nottingham and was trolling through Booking.com etc for a hotel near our friend. The deal for the Hogs Head seemed too good to be true. I booked for two days. We arrived a little early but as the room was ready was allowed to go straight to our room. First impression nice and comfortable,... More

A warm welcome as always with excellent service. Excellent breakfast and a gluten free menu. Friendly bar staff. Great quiz on a Sunday evening. We stayed Friday until Monday. Top of our list of hotels when staying in the area.

We live about five miles away and decided to go out for dinner. We were told the food was nice. The salad was off. Cottage pie didn't tast nice. Some of the New potatoes were bad. We then ordered a pudding which we waited for half hour still didn't come. We asked then was told we had to wait while... More

Stayed here for one night, room was very nice and comfortable. Only one very slight niggle was shower is a bit low on pressure. Breakfast was extremely good and service excellent. If using sat-nav don't use post code use the road name or you end up on the wrong side of the M1 motorway.

We stayed for 2nights whilst in the area for a family wedding. The hotel is only a couple of minutes from the M1 and is very close to a massive retail park ( including IKEA) for those who like to shop. Rooms are compact but clean and modern with decent bathrooms. All the staff we encountered were really friendly and... More

We live locally and wanted a pub meal so we made a quick phone call to see if they were still serving at 2pm. The phone was answered promptly and the polite and cheerful voice stated they were serving all afternoon. The bar area was clean and so were all the tables. The food was good, certainly for the price.... More

We booked this hotel at the last minute, having been once before. It is a great hotel in a quiet location, yet only a few minutes from the M1. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is good and I have no doubt we will return.

A little bit difficult to find coming off the A50 and the local signs are not that helpful. Once you get there it is very good. The room I had was large, with all new fixtures and fittings and clean. Breakfast in the pub was very good. I arrived too late to try the resteraunt which was a pity as... More

The pub itself is in a nice setting, its old world inside and has friendly staff. We ordered 4 meals which were pretty average. The onions rings sounded great as a starter. They are big and are basically 3 times the amount of batter to actual onion. I doubt they were even allowed to drain after coming out of the... More
