Stayed here for almost 2 weeks while attending a conference down the road. A gentleman greeted me at reception who seemed pretty miserable and couldn't find my room key. My room was in the attic. Small cold and mouldy. Tiny shower room to match. Bed very lumpy with springs gone. Breakfast and evening meals were the saviour of this place.... More

I booked for 2 nights but left after 1. There were numerous issues starting from entry to my ultimate exit. The room was depressing and freezing, the hosting was poor;. The only positives were the waitressing staff and the excellent food, both of which I cannot fault

We visited the hotel for a meal a few weekends ago and decided to come back for a 2night break. It had been a long time since our last visit when we had a wee holiday home in the area. A very nice family have owned it for the last 3yrs and are making huge improvements to the place. It... More

Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. Had a very big family room to myself which was lovely. Building is old and very beautiful. Ate in the restaurant both nights, food good but was quite a long wait for it. Bed very comfortable but room did get rather cold at night. Lovely location.

Hadn't been here for years so it was a trip down memory lane. Gorgeous sunny night so had dinner outside. The King Prawn Caesar salad was great and reasonably priced. Staff very pleasant. The kids were able to run around the grounds having fun like we used to do when we came along from the caravan site all those years... More

I've stayed here a couple of time and I have always found the reception to be warn and friendly. The bar is comfortable and the food is of an acceptable quality. The breakfast is great abs there is plenty available. The rooms are a bit on the small side and have what you would expect. The hotel never seemed to... More

On holiday in the area and dropped in for lunch. The dining room/bar area was pretty much deserted so the atmosphere was very low key. Service was fine, businesslike and without friendliness. Food was okay...nothing to write home about. A wonderful old building in spacious grounds with great views over the Clyde. So much more could be done to attract... More

Hotel is a beautiful old building with great views across the river however very dated inside. We had been advised that the food was great maybe we were there on a bad night as it was very busy with not enough staff but our food was average. We were the only 4 overnight guests in the hotel in late April.

My husband and I stayed at this country house hotel on 29th march for one night. We arrived late afternoon and were quickly checked in to room 2. This is a large comfortable room overlooking the water. It is a little dated but was still a nice room and the bathroom was very good and I think this had been... More

Was booked into the hotel by work. The building sits overlooking the loch and is a lovely looking hotel. Inside some renovation and decorating has been done and some other areas appear to be ongoing. I was in room 9 which was a single room, it was decorated adequately, but the en-suite is rather more snug (very snug) than I... More
