We have returned to Mount Farm each year for the last 3 years. We always make our booking for the next year before we leave. Judith is such a lovely host. A small working farm with converted stables as B&B rooms. Always clean and tidy. Homemade cakes and a ready kettle on arrival, with the breakfast menu ready for your... More

Judith is one in a million. Staying here is like visiting family. We were made very welcome, had a good night s sleep in comfortable beds and huge breakfast. One of Judiths cows was kind enough to give birth as we watched!! Also many thanks to Tarn the border collie who kept my niece thoroughly entertained. This was our third... More

Mount Farm has now become our first choice location for a stopover when travelling to and from my parents' house in north Scotland. We love the welcome, home made cakes, big comfy bed and excellent location. Judith always greets us with a smile and cooks a cracking breakfast.

Judith is a very friendly and wonderful hostess. We decided to choose Mount Farm because we're from the city and wanted our little two year old to see some farm animals. When we arrived it was raining and we were greeted by the ducks waddling in the puddles. The next morning Judith let us walk in the sheep paddock and... More

My husband and I only stayed here one evening, but it was just what we needed. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was also plentiful to say the least and very good. The hostess was great and let me feed one of her sheep and even ironed my husband's shirt the next day-now that's service!

Everything you could wish for in a B&B. Warm, friendly and every need anticipated or catered for. The shower in the bathroom of our room was on the small side but that was a minor detail in the overall experience. I wish I could have managed the large breakfast but settled for a very satisfying medium size!

Our second visit to Mount Farm and it was wonderful. Judith is a really great hostess, so careing and nothing is a bother. It is so easy to get to Carlisle and Gretna and the scenery is lovely. I especially loved the pet lamb. Food was lovely, plenty to eat, i really recommend this lovely bed and breakfast.

We stopped off at this excellent B and B on our way up to Scotland. We were not disappointed. A great location - just off the M6- and excellent accommodation with adjacent kitcenette make for a great stopover. Judith could not have been more welcoming and she provided an excellent breakfast. Overall, a great package at a very fair price.... More
