We are on a week wildlife tour of the island. The rooms are cosy and very comfortable; the staff friendly and helpful. Dinners are excellent for such a remote location. I will recommend this small hotel to anyone.

It was our 3rd stay on Islay and at Bridgend for surely several will follow. We love the Island and as well being home at Bridgend. To start the day after a delicious Scottish Breakfast at Bridgend Hotel it is the best place to explore the Island. Across the road of Bridgend Hotel a Shop is located to find drinks,... More

I can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel is. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in April/May of 2015 and had the best experience. The manager, Lorna, is incredibly friendly and helpful. She will go out of her way to make sure your stay is exactly what you want. We ended missing the earlier ferry and... More

Sometimes the travel to and from Islay doesn't quite work out as planned - locals like Lorna are only too well aware of this and therefore very understanding. Apart from that she also runs a pretty good hotel! More

We stayed here two nights. The rooms are small but the showers are nice. The breakfasts are very good with many options. We ate dinner here both nights and loved the mussels and salmon. The staff is excellent especially Lorna. They have an excellent selection of Islay scotches to sample.

Thank you for this kind review. Some of the rooms are compact with others a bit bigger, it does depend what is available and (to some extent) what you want to pay. Bridgend Hotel is a 3 Star Hotel so don't expect anything too fancy, but we do try and produce the highest possible standard of service and a good... More

Stayed here for one night in May 15 while on a cycling trip round Islay Made to feel most welcome and there was a drying room for our wet gear and inside space for our bikes. Meals were good and breakfast good. Room was very clean with an excellent power shower. Very comfortable bar with log fire. Would definitely visit... More

About 5 years ago we put in a drying room exactly for the purposes you used it for. Thank you for mentioning it in the review. Islay makes a great destination for cyclists as it is not too hilly and you can do a great round trip from Arran and return via Tighnabruich and Bute. Bridgend Hotel is conveniently situated... Even though we did not stay at the hotel, we were returning twice to have dinner at the Bridgend Hotel. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. I've had great scallops as a starter, a fantastic halibut with mashed potatoes for the main course and a delicious almond tart for desert. And their lobby with the whiskey... More

Thank you for such a great review. Without being too presumptuous, we have had some great comments about the food this year. With Scott and Hubert in the kitchen we have an excellent team who try hard to produce delicious food from the excellent local ingredients. More

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on Islay. The room and bathroom were nice but they need updating. The food was amazing. We had been looking forward to some nice seafood when we came to Islay and this hotel didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, will definitely be back.

Thank you for the review - I have tried to work out which room you were in as all the rooms and bathrooms have been updated in the last 3 years. Despite that, I'm delighted that the seafood lived up to expectations! When you do come back to Bridgend, let Lorna know about the room and she'll give you a... More

Thank you for such a lovely review - the walk up to the Wool Mill is particularly pretty at the moment with the bluebells in flower and - at last - some sunshine! If you ask one of the staff they can advise on whether the Mill is open; it does have some beautiful things and is well worth a... More

Staff (esp. Lorna, Debbie & Mary) could not be more helpful & accommodating. We arrived ~4 hours late off the ferry yet the hotel kept the kitchen open and cooked us 5 exquisite 3 course dinner combinations. All the meals we ate in the hotel were amazing. Beautiful fresh seafood and those that had the lamb at the wedding dinner... More

It's the people who make hospitality: this applies as much to the staff as it does to the guests. It is really kind of you to give us such a glowing review - as I put in the previous review, we loved having the wedding and hope you'll come and stay with us again. More

We have just returned from a family wedding at the weekend and had a fabulous time. Most importantly, the best wedding meal we've had! Lorna and the team were so hospitable, a proper home from home experience with great food and drink. Suite was spotless and spacious for a family of 4, can't wait to head back when we return... We really enjoyed the wedding too - such a shame the weather wasn't as good as we had hoped for but Lorna and the team loved having you all so it is lovely to get such positive feedback. Glad you got home safely and we look forward to seeing you back for the christening!! More
