We finished our longest track of Hadrian's Wall Path on the third day of our hike at Lanercost B&B. The sign at the entrance already indicated that this was one of the most award winning B&B's around. We agree completely! It was a well deserved resting place in a beautiful surrounding. We had half an hour after arrival to get... More

We stayed here because of its closeness to the wall. We don't normally stay at B&Bs. Our visit here has not changed our minds and we will not stay at B&Bs again. There was some confusion when we arrived as we were told we were not expected then after that was sorted we were taken to our room which was... More

I was very lucky to find this gem of a B&B. The location is very close to remaining parts of Hadrians Wall, set in the beautiful grounds of a genuine old priory. The view from our 'river room' was across open fields to a river that you could not actually see, but worth a walk along. The room was large... More

When Granny and Grampa decided to walk Hadrian's Wall with son and his wife and grandson they were looking for special places on the path to stay. Warmly welcomed by the owners they were treated to afternoon tea on arrival, enjoyed a superb "supper" (three courses) and slept in comfy beds in luxurious rooms. It was the perfect way to... More

What can you say about this little piece of countrified heaven on earth. We had an absolutely superb one night stay (two old blokes walking the wall) after a heavy day's slog. A cup of tea on arrival, a welcome from Muttley the house dog, and a gathering for an evening meal straight out of a Michelin 3 star restaurant.... More

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Bob and Mutley, the wonder dog. Bob pointed us in the directions for the best bits of Harian's Wall while the room was being cleaned (we arrived early). Upon return Bob and Christina, and of course Mutley, entertained their guests, mostly Hadrian's Wall walkers, with stories of their family, Mutley, and encouraged guests... More

We stayed at Lanercost during our trip along Hadrian's Wall. After slogging many miles in the rain, Lanercost was a little oasis: we were greeted with fresh coffee and homemade cake (plus a friendly wag of the tail from Mutley!) and our room had the most fabulously comfortable bed. Christina cooked for us in the evening and went to the... More

What a treat to have booked this B&B, room was a pleasure with a lovely en-suite. The use of the lounge and having a log fire was great even in August with very nice hosts adding to the very pleasurable stay. Nothing seemed too much trouble and I would have no hesitation in staying here again. A visit to the... More

Again, we were in Lanercost at Christina and Bob's B&B. And let us tell you: better than this will be hard to find. Christina and Bob are very nice people, you will get a warm welcome, not only from them but also from Mutley the dog! The house is like a castle, the rooms are large and comfortable. The B&B... More

I stayed here with my granddaughter for one night as part of our Hadrian's Wall journey. It was wonderful to find such a welcoming, comfortable, much -above -average place, set in idyllic surroundings right next to Lanercost Priory. Some B and B owners make you feel that you're intruding. Not Bob and Christine. Nothing is too much trouble for them.... More
