Stayed at primrose lodge for a long weekend in feb. We were welcomed with fresh cakes and a pot of tea. Deborah was extremely helpful with tips of where to visit and how best to get around (buses into York from just down the road were great value for money and easy to navigate!) she also recommended a great Italian... We booked the Primrose Lodge, for a special visit to York, late January 2015. We had to book in at Noon, to freshen up and change from casual clothes, to a suit and tie for me and a very nice outfit in my Wife's case. I telephoned the Lodge, after I booked a few weeks before and Deborah, the owner... More

What a fantastic B & B! The mini apartment is fantastic - all the pro's of a cottage with the addition of B&B attentive service! Sofa, kitchen, comfy double and single beds. Deborah is the most amazing host, adding plenty of generous little touches, welcome coffee, cake and chocolate. Bucks Fizz and full spread continental breakfast for Christmas morning room... More

We had a beautiful room for two nights and Deborah was welcoming and attentive - but unobtrusive. Has a knack of doing small things that make such a difference: because we were leaving very early and would miss breakfast, she made a lovely packed meal; and left us some lovely home-made cake on another day; and her home-made bread at... Stayed a couple of nights, we managed to get a huge room 3 beds that hold 4 people but there were only two of us. I don't go to a lot of hotels but it was my second of the week. Very inviting and warm room, didn't look at all dated. They provided lots of board games and a TV... More

Had a weeks stay at Primrose lodge. Being in the hospitality trade myself, I tend to be a little critical whenever I go to hotels/B&B`s etc. The Primrose Lodge is run in a way that is faultless. Pretty comfortable rooms, with all amenities, an excellent breakfast, with nice little things along the way, occasional cake and coffee, a little chocolate... More

We stayed in the quad family unit which was very roomy, pleasantly decorated and had a double and two single beds which were partly behind a partial wall to give a bit of privacy from the main area. As we were travelling with children the owner Deborah had put some board games in the room, which our children enjoyed playing.... More

This b&b was overall, just wonderful! It is just a short ride from the centre of York (10 minutes on the bus, or £10 in a taxi). We were given a huge room with en suite and kitchen facilities that was very clean and well presented. The bed was very comfy! Everything was provided- ice and cold water, fresh milk,... More

From the moment we got there (we were late) the service was fantastic. Greeted with tea and cake at 9.30pm even though I'm sure they would have much preferred to be in bed they didn't let it show. Every day was lovely, easy access to city centre and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in York.
