You do feel you are off on an adventure getting to this hotel, so close to Exeter but feels so remote. Amazingly peaceful. Great size rooms, bedrooms so clean and breakfast is a treat....brilliant service. We did feel a bit let down by the late afternoon bar service but we all can have an off day. Only niggle was the... This is an old Hotel and is very remote with access being by VERY narrow lanes so be aware if to use this place as everyone drives as if no one else is on the road. The Hotel is price very well for the area and you get what you pay for! Would I returen? Probaly not as it was... More

Stayed at this Hotel because it was dog friendly as are most of the Best Western hotels which we have found to be comfortable with staff being very friendly. With having a dog I'm sure we don't always get the most luxurious rooms but we find the rooms we get are always clean as was the room at the Lord... More

Just back from The Lord Haldon Country House Hotel at Dunchideock, near Exeter. We want congratulate all the staff there ,for looking after us so well, from the minute we arrived until we left today. The food was excellent , with lots of choice for breakfast, and very different evening meals ,plus favourites ,such as Curry, and home made pies. We... More

We have just returned from a 3 night break at the Lord Haldon Hotel. We wanted a hotel to get away from it all, and this hotel is exactly that. The views and position of the hotel are stunning and although you feel tucked away, there is still a lot to do within easy driving distance. It is worth mentioing... More

The quirkiness and maybe a few shortcomings of this hotel are more than made up for by the friendly helpfulness of the staff, its fascinating history and magnificent setting overlooking the Exe Valley. We took advantage of the winter break rate, which was very good value. Our dog was made more than welcome, and there are beautiful walks to enjoy.... More

We stayed one night having found the hotel accidentally back in October. We.came for our wedding anniversary. The rooms are comfortable warm and clean, the dinner and breakfast were very good but the service and helpfulness of the staff was brilliant. They let our little dog,who was languishing in a cold car join us in the warm. Also when I asked... More

We stayed in this hotel in order to visit friends nearby, enjoy walks from the door-step and explore Exeter. We had a comfortable stay and were made welcome by the staff, specially Maggie on reception and Mike in the bar. Mike kept the bar open so my husband could watch Match of the Day without me having to have it... More

f I get the chance I always book Best Western hotels ..simply for their uniqueness. This was no exception..in a fantastic location (although finding it without a tom tom may have been a little fraught)..this is a beautiful building with an outlook which is stunning. I came with my friend for a girlie weekend.. no husbands allowed..enjoyed the shopping in... More
