although hotels are overall pricey in Belize for the standards you get versus the US or Europe, the Black Orchid was a nice surprise. The owners are super nice and service oriented; we were on a late boat trip and were starving - he called the restaurant from the boat on his mobile so that we can have something ready... More

We came to the Black Orchid after staying at Kaana resort. 2 adults and 2 kids – disappointed after a magical stay in Guatemala. What a pleasant surprise. Finally, a place in Belize that tourism has not spoiled. Finally, no more policies and how best to make money. But rather, how to make your stay enjoyable and fun. The grounds... More

My wife and I recently visited our Homeland Belize for the second time in the past three months.During both trips we spent time at the Black Orchid Resort in Boom. It was nothing less than pure pleasure and satisfaction staying there. If it wasn't because of our family's expectation to be around them most of the time,I would make this... More

We regret that we only stayed one night at this lovely place! We booked this for our last night in Belize to be close to the airport without being in the city. We are so happy we did. The morning we were taken to the airport we enjoyed waking up to the sound of howler monkeys, went for a great... More

They advertise a free transfer from the airport so I was at the water taxi and they wanted $40 US so I payed it So the room was nice and had a view of the river and a nice lanai and big iguanas on the property, and a pool and canoes to paddle down the river So the restaurant is... More

Yes we do offer a free shuttle from the international airport to and from our resort and no we do not do the same to Belize city which is where the water taxi is located. And yes we had a 30 minute delay in getting a vehicle to transfer you to San Ignacio so we hired a taxi to take... More

I stayed here two days ago with my boyfriend/rooommate/common law husband. He was flying out the next day. This place is wonderful. I've been traveling to belize for decades and it is always a hassle getting to the airport easily the morning of the flight out. Belize city is dirty, noisy and not very safe. Black Orchid Resort (BOR) is... More

BEST HIDDEN PLACE IN BELIZE!!!!! My friend and I had been in Belize serving at an orphanage in Belmopan which is an hour away from the airport. We wanted to end our trip on a relaxed note but didn't want to waste a lot of time takin ferris out to the islands so we found black orchid resort perfect! They... More

We stayed two nights and was immediately pampered from the moment we arrived. Kenny picked us up from the airport, giving us informative tidbits during the drive and answering our questions. Fruit punch was ready for us when we arrived to whet our parched throats during check-in. Kenny pointed out the whooping of howler monkeys as he helped us with... More

Hotels everywhere, please take note - this is how guests should be treated! This is an adventure hotel with howlers monkeys in the trees, crocs in the river, iguanas on the lawn, and finding the place with our rented car was a challenge at dusk. The rooms are comfortable, the food was a delightful surprise but it was the excellent... More

Many good things to say about Black Orchid, but one of the strongest aspects, for nature lovers especially, is the ability to view monkeys in their natural habitat. We saw a few on the first day and a whole family with 2 babies, right on the property! The river is nice and they have canoes and kayaks for your enjoyment.... More
