We recently visited McGanns on New Year's Eve as a group of ten. The food was good and reasonably priced. Definitely the nicest food we had in any pub in Doolin during our stay. The stew was really good! It's a cosy pub and the staff are really helpful! We ended up back in McGanns later that night and the... More

On a recent off season visit to this charming village, which must be swarming in season we visited the three Pub/food establishments that were open. 1:McGanns...the most authentic 'down home' no frills good basic food and my #1 choice 2:Fitzpatricks....more upscale with good food (fishpie excellent), and slightly stiffer atmosphere. 3:O'Connors...the one everyone mentions, but seemed very quiet off season.... We stayed for 2 nights in Doolin - which is a great place to visit by the way - in the McGann's. The rooms were very simple and quite loud, but after some beers or ciders this is no problem anymore ;) The pub itself is a superb place to be. They have daily live music, the food is great,... More

We planned a stop in McGann's on our trip to Ireland for the mere fact it is my namesake. We had just visited the Cliffs of Moher, and was late afternoon on a Tuesday. It was pretty quiet. I had a pint of Smithwicks, and the Irish Stew lived up to the reputation it has been given on this board.... More

Our friends who live in ireland recommended us this restaurant in case we wanna try sth typical. Despite the fact we had to walk around 10 mins from our bus to find it and didnt have much time..it was absolutely worth. There is very nice and friendly staff..typical irish atmosphere..its not crowded during a lunch time with other tourists..and the... More

We were driving along the coastal route and needed a place for lunch. We weren't sure about McGann's, but we were so glad that we stopped! We got to enjoy some great Irish food and a really friendly staff, and we were a little ways away from the more "touristy" part of town but still near some really neat little... More

The best Pear salad I have ever had. The roast beef special was delicious as was my wifes lamb shank. This is not typical pub grub. Much better than some of the high end restaurant s in Dublin. Will return on next trip to Ireland.

I really enjoyed my visits to this pub. The warm pear salad I was served was the best salad I have ever eaten! The Irish music in the evening was also terrific. The bartenders were also very friendly.

My wife & I were taking a day tour to the Cliffs with Extreme Ireland Day tours. They stopped by here for lunch. She ordered the vegetarian plate that had the puff pastry & chips. I ordered the Irish Stew. The place was not crowded other than all those on our touring bus. We were slightly put off as we... More

Ate here 2 nights in a row. Great pub food, friendly staff , great music and sound system. The only annoyance is that they have tables reserved which seems to be a silly idea in a pub. People walking in every few minutes being offered what's left of the seats. Tables reserved , seem to remain vacant half the evening.... More
