This is the best hostel in Ireland. Friendly owners (Mattiew and Carmel), well knowleged as well and really helpfull in each case. Its also great that you can hire a bike to that. The rooms are clean and confortable. The lounge is also cosy and all together is it a place to feel home.

Mattie and Carmel gave us a warm welcome, and Mattie offered to drove us to the grocery store. The included breakfast is great :) We stayed three nights and explored the area, the hostel is a great starting point to go to the Cliffs of Moher, to the Aran Islands, and to the Burren National Park! The hostel also offers... More

This is a really great hostel. Stayed here the end of August and the weather was fairly miserable. Can't describe how amazing it was to come back damp and wet and see a lovely fire lighting in the common area - was absolutely divine to come and read a book there while my shoes dried out! Breakfast is great -... More

This is a true family run hostel and they make you very welcome. Hot scones for breakfast, great kitchen, lots of local info, nice rooms all en suite, fire in the common room if you go in the cold weather. The owners go out of their way for their guests.

This hostel was very clean and comfortable. The room was a double with a private bathroom and was huge. A bit on the cold side but when asked we were given a radiator. The kitchen is also big and clean with 2 fridges and coffee available whenever you want with toast at brekkie as well. Pretty good for a hostel.... More

I've been taking a group of secondary school students over to the West of Ireland every year for the last 8 years and have stayed in other hostels. The Rainbow Hostel is leaps and bounds ahead of all the others. We were greeted by Carmel and well looked after for our 2 night stay. The accommodation is clean, fresh and... More

This hostel is a great place to stay in Doolin. Clean and comfortable accommodations, LOVELY hosts (Mattie and Carmel), and a spacious kitchen serving delicious scones in the morning. My friends stayed at the Bed & Breakfast next door and loved it, also run by Mattie and Carmel. Easy walk into town. A pub with live music is close by.... More

The place is run by a family living next door. They've been in the business for 28 years and they have the energy, hospitality, and enthusiasm that you might of thought only existed in stories. The hostel itself is extremely well kept, and they have wonderful accommodations. You'll be a very short walk from all the pubs in town.

We stayed four nights in a two-bed room (en-suite) and enjoyed our stay very much. Mattie and Carmel are very friendly. Rooms are quite small but cosy and clean. You can always stay in the nice warm living room by the fireplace. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. In the mornings there is breakfast including toast and scones.

First time I stayed in a hostel. Mattie was excellent. Felt very welcome on arrival. Shown all facilities on arrival. Arranged to leave my motor on site while I travelled to the islands which was a great comfort. Mattie arranged for me to be dropped and collected from ferry. Carmel was very friendly on my return and invited me to... More
