This is a wonderful, quiet location. Situated right next to the Ballinlacken Castle ruin. Great restaurant, comfortable rooms, make you feel at home. Dennis is a wonderful person in the bar and guests get a private tour of the castle ruin. Well worth your money

We stayed in this hotel for two nights when traveling around Ireland. Although it is about a 10 minute drive to Doolin, we didn't mind the location because we had a vehicle and enjoyed the quieter setting. Please, do your research on the location of where you're staying prior to complaining about location and docking points off for something that... More

I absolutely loved staying in Ballinalacken Castle - you can enjoy historical buildings, but at the same time, having all the comfort you need. Declan was kind enough to provide a tour of the old tower, which is really stunning, especially the view from above. Rooms are spacious, clean, have great views. There is also free wifi and plenty of... More

My husband and I recently spent three nights at this very special hotel. It combines a classic, country house hotel experience with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a setting of breathtaking beauty. One wakes to a view of the Cliffs of Moher, the sea, distant hills, cattle grazing in an adjacent field. In the evenings, we saw beautiful sunsets over... More

The Ballinalacken Castle Country House sits on a high hill just outside Doolin. The views of the Irish countryside, the Cliffs of Mohr, the Atlantic, and the mouth of Galway Bay were spectacular from our room and the restaurant. For three nights we watched the sunsets on the Atlantic. The hotel is an excellent launching point for seeing Lisdoonvarna (traditional... More

Spent one night at this traditional country house. This property is how I imagined Ireland to look, rolling green hills, ocean view and sitting right next to an old castle. The property is somewhat isolated which adds to the picturesque backdrop of that Irish charm. Having said that, when it gets dark, there's not much to do. Town is about... More

Me and my mom stayed here for two nights! We loved it and did not want to leave. HUGE Room, great breakfast and dinner. The owner took us up in the "family" castle next to the B&B. We had a great time here. Very nice.

Situated with views of the ocean and hillsides, and nestled beside the castle, this was a charming stop. Rooms are average and, if you're in the back, are a bit of a walk with your luggage, up and down stairs. Quaint bar with ping pong in the back. The filet I had was the best meal of a two week... This was our last stop, for 2 nights, on a little road trip four of us took in west Ireland, and we were really knocked out by it. It's in a lovely location on the edge of the Burren in some green and wooded countryside with a view across to the Cliifs of Moher, and it's perfectly situated for exploring... More

Pluses: Very cordial staff who went out of way to accommodate guests. Food was excellent, highly recommend dinner at the hotel, as well as the complimentary breakfast which was well beyond the normal fare. Property setting was magnificent, out in the county, yet a panoramic view of the ocean. Negatives: location is out of the way and unto itself. We... More
