This is a wonderful family-run hotel. We were there for three nights and managed to get (dry) to the Cliffs of Moher on the last day. Excellent breakfasts and dinners. We had the end room overlooking the sea - and it was a great refuge when the weather was bad/or soft, if you're Irish. . A great hotel in a... More

Our family travelled as a large group that included grandparents, great aunts, small children and couples. We loved our stay! The rooms were lovely and very quiet. We were able to borrow a baby monitor, which allowed us to stay up late and enjoy the small pub just down the hall from our room. Declan was our gracious bartender while... More

My boyfriend and I spent the night here while we were passing through that part of the country, and I wish we would have stayed longer. We went during the off season (late October) and it was the two of us and two other couples in the entire house. It was so quiet and relaxing, and close to everything in... More

My husband found this charming place online as we were planning our trip to Ireland. What a great pick! I wished that we'd had more than one night here... Declan took ourselves and another couple on a tour of the ruins just before sunset. Amazing! As the restaurant on the premises was closed that evening, Dennis sent us down to... More

Very nice hotel. We upgraded to a sea view room but the sea is quite far away so not anything spectacular. We stayed here mainly to tour the castle ruins that are on the property. Unfortunately you can only tour the ruins with the owner and he has a full time job away from the hotel. So the only time... More

My husband and I just returned from another lovely stay at the Ballinalacken. We love coming here for the peace and quiet and hospitality of the O'Callaghan family. Declan and Cecilia are fabulous hosts, very welcoming, friendly and willing to help you with whatever you need. If it's directions somewhere, sites to see, they are very helpful. Declan also gives... We stayed here in September while doing a driving holiday of Ireland. The accommodation was wonderful. We were provided a front room with a view out towards the coast. Our room was large, with a good-sized four poster bed. The bathroom was very small but like a lot of historic properties that did not have an ensuite originally, this had... More

I regard this establishment as one of the best guest houses I have stayed whilst travelling to more than forty countries of the world The road to the guest house was easy to find and the scenery along the road was just beautiful. We were received warmly. Although the trek to our room was somewhat long, it was worth every... More

We were on a "Journey of Love" through Ireland to witness the marriage of our friends, and this was 1 of our stops. We arrived after sunset, and the tables were set for dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. The small bar was quaint, and the rooms were cozy. Sorry we had to leave.
