This Bed & Breakfast is a model of B&B experience - charming house, full of character, comfortable and cozy, great food, very warm and friendly staff. Don't miss the private castle tour, it was very interesting. Everything was just perfect!

My wife and I stayed at Ballinalacken Castle on the 17th and 18th of October. It was very picturesque and cozy. The views from the private sitting area in our room (#16) were spectacular, and the breakfasts were delicious. The private castle tour we received was actually one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. We would definitely stay... More

My family and I traveled to Ireland where we toured mostly the West Coast of Ireland. I have to say that the Balinalacken Castle Country House was my favorite of all the hotels and guest houses that we stayed. The room was big and spacious with the only down side being possibly a little too much furniture in the room.... More

From the moment we walked into the warm, rich entry hall of the hotel, we felt very warmly welcomed. When we walked in, your place felt far more like a big family home than it did a hotel. Cecilia, Declan and the staff made us feel very much looked after, cared for and welcomed like old friends. When we arrived,... More

My recent stay was absolutely delightful. Terrific location with fantastic views, outstanding service, and a wonderful restaurant. The manager was kind enough to give us a guided tour of the castle ruins on the grounds - once in a lifetime experience. Perfect location for visiting the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, and the cute town of Doolin.

We arrived at Ballinalacken Castle (a mouthful to say, which I have still not figured out how to pronounce correctly like the locals) after a day on the coastal cliff walk and seeing the Cliffs of Moher via ferry and were delighted to be upgraded to a suite (absolutely one of the amazing parts about planning travel during shoulder season)!... When traveling in Ireland you'll want to include a stay at Ballinalacken Castle Country House. It's a perfect location if you're going to visit the Cliffs of Moher, but if that's not on your agenda Ballinalacken Castle Country House is worth a visit on its own. The hotel, a building from the 1800s, sits next to the ruins of a... More

After careful research of the area we selected the "Castle" for 2 nights and exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival (3 miles from Doolin) we were greeted at the reception by Cecilla who was extremely helpful through our stay. We inquired about the castle and before dark were given a tour along with other guests by owner Declan. On Tuesday the... More

My husband and I spent a night here last week, and it was great! The views from our room were amazing, and it was quiet and relaxing in our room. We could see the Cliffs of Moher in the distance, as well as lots of ocean, the Aran Islands, and the Connemara Mountains. Our bed was large and comfortable, the... More

Wonderful views, great restaurant, excellent service for the two nights we stayed. Felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. This family run place has a great feel of charm, warmth, humor, and comfort. We had excellent breakfasts and a wonderful dinner at the restaurant. The only negative was a bathroom that needed some work (leaky shower), but overall, this was... More
