There were 5 of us staying at the Gentian Cottage for 10 days. From the day we arrived to the day we left it was absolutely outstanding. Ann was so friendly and helpful throughout our whole stay along with a giving us a private tour of the castle near by. I 100% would recommend a stay here and I will... More

We spent two entire months (February and March) in Gentian Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to repeat this any time. The whole house is furnished with love for detail, the kitchen isn't missing anything you can imagine. Families travelling with little children even find a nice baby cod, highchair, playpen, lots of toys and stair gates. One of the top highlights... More

As other reviewers have noted Ann, the owner of Gentian Cottage, is a warm bubbly person who can not do enough for you. We spent 2013 Christmas at Gentian Cottage with our adult children who had travelled from Australia (we are living in Dublin for a couple of years) to enjoy an Irish West Coast experience. We arrived in the... More

We spent four days at the O' Callaghan's Gentian Cottage in Doolin. Everything about the house was perfect. The layout was roomy and very cozy. The kitchen is a very easy space to work in with a roomy table to enjoy the home cooked meal. The O'Callaghan family were great hosts, hospitable, knowledgeable and generous. The views from every window... More

The village of Doolin is right where you want to be if your goal is to be within striking distance of the some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland...and this cottage is on a lovely rise just five minutes north town with absolutely spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Aran Islands, The Burren, and dozens of friendly and... We spent our first nights in Ireland at Ann's Gentian Cottage, which was built by her husband to be their family's home. It is certainly a traveler's good luck that Ann instead lives in the house below the hilltop cottage and this lovely home is available to us! The term cottage might imply small size, but Gentian Cottage is definitely... More

We recently spent time at the Gentian Cottage and it was the highlight of our Irish adventure! It is such a serene setting: the ocean views, the livestock, the open spaces and a very welcoming home. The Cottage is modern, warm, welcoming and very well appointed. The owner (Ann) was very accommodating and even gave us a private tour of... More

My husband and I just returned from a three week, multi city trip to London and Ireland to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, Christmas and New Year's. We spend a week at Gentian Cottage (12/21-27/2011) in Doolin and had a wonderful time. Our two adult children (ages 20 and 23) joined us in Doolin. We renewed our wedding vows on... More

Spent a week in April 2009 in Doolin - West cost of Ireland County Clare. Doolin is a small costal town with wonderful pubs. We had dinner every night at a pub. We flew into Dublin and drove to Doolin where we rented a place a short distance from doolin called Gentian Cottage. It was a 3 BR, 4 bath,... More
