Staff, Food, Accommodation, Activities all are absolutely excellent. And the price is not bad either. The only thing that sucks is the wi-fi, but then again you don't go to the jungle to be stuck on your iPad! Bonus: there are barely ANY mosquitoes in the whole Anavilhanas area because of the acidity of the river, so I didn't even... More

In general previous reviews were very accurate: The staff are uniformly wonderful, the rooms are comfortable, the food is good but not great, most excursions were excellent, internet access is almost non-existent. Staff were happy to tailor the schedule of excursions to our preferences. We had no desire to learn the bow-and-arrow and were able to substitute another canoe tour... More

What a fantastic experience! I took my 16 year old, football-mad nephew to Brazil for the World Cup. We saw the Germany vs France game in Rio de Janeiro & then visited the Iguassu Falls before travelling to the Anavilhanas Lodge for three nights. After the Lodge we went to Salvador before flying back to London. I loved every part... More

What a wonderful experience. We went to other parts of Brazil for the World Cup and ended our trip here. It was a relaxing and memorable way to end our travels. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our daughters have food allergies, and the staff was very accommodating in letting us know what was in each dish and... More

Thanking all the staff at the Anavilhanas lodge for a memorable and full experience of this remarkable part of the world. Food and service was five star quality, truly appropriate for the setting. The rooms were immaculate and the girls always had a smile for us. All of our guides, Holis, Rob, and others, were all fully informed and delivery... More

An amazing setting, super staff and cuisine to dine for. This lodge is close enough to Manaus to avoid hours of dirt roads, but far enough away that you feel really deep in the amazon. Set right by the Rio Negro, they use the river for twice daily trip out that include pink dolphin experiences, moonlit night boats to see... More

My family of 4 enjoyed our recent 5 night / 4 day stay at Anavilhanes tremendously. The lodge enjoys a great setting and has very helpful staff and insightful guides. The rooms / huts are very comfortable and clean with excellent a/c. We all enjoyed the food and the kids tried a lot of new dishes. Activities are scheduled by... More
