We stayed at Le Clos des Pierres Rouges for one night after our first day walking the Camino from Le Puy and could not be happier with the experience. Their home is beautiful, part of a tiny town nestled in the rolling hills; inside, it smells like a spa and you could eat off the (heated!) floors. Our hosts were... More

Sylvie and Thierry are great hosts, so we stayed for two nights and two dinners :-)...really nice and cosy...the room was very spacious, the whole house is nicely decorated and renovated, My fav was the huge shower. The food was outstanding (especially the cheese selection) and the wine list is very good. The requirements in terms of food are welcome... More

You can tell from the moment you arrive that Thierry and Sylvie really care. They are a delightful couple who are knowledgable and passionate about their area. Their home (a beautifully restored farm house) is comfortable, charming, spotless and superbly run. I booked demi pension and the dinner was delicious. Breakfast was also a treat with both the breads and... More

As we all know one second , one minute , one hour or one day can change your life forever. I had that experience when after arriving in Saint- Privat- d'Allier we found we were at wrong location. One beer and a coke zero later the local tavern owner called the owner of Pierres Rouges who arrived in minutes to... More

We spent a delightful 2 nights at the home of Mr and Mrs Grumelart. Their home was spacious and open plan. Our bedroom was very pretty and spotlessly clean with a raised outdoor patio where you could sit outside andl look at the beautiful Auvergne countryside. The bedroom and bathroom were tastefully furnished with everything you would need for your stay.... Sylvie and Thierry were fanastic hosts at this wonderful b&b. We arrived early after our first day of hiking the Chemin St Jacques and were greeted by Dyson, the massive black Newfie dog. He accompanied us as we relaxed later in the yard with our regional beers. Sylvie made a gourmet meal that evening and we were able to visit... More

I've written many reviews for travel sites over the past few years, but can't remember ever having given full marks in every category. This was a memorable evening, partly because of the beauty of the surroundings, partly because of the comfortable and spacious room, partly because of the exceptionally warm way in which we were received by our hosts. To... More

You cannot do better. Outstanding. The room is excellent, the bathroom as well. The reception by the hosts warm and forthcoming. Four course dinner menu delicious. I will surely return and use Le Clos de Pierres Rouges as a centre for further visits to the beautiful region.

We stumbled into Le Clos des Pierres Rouges with sore feet and aching backs on our first day on a walk from Le Puy to Aumont Aubrac and came to paradise. Sylvie and Thierry provided a lovely room, a delicious meal and excellent company. We hope to be able to come back some time in the future.

We were greeted byThierry and Dyson the Newfoundland when we arrived - turns out to be the softest (and largest) dog in France. Thierry and Sylvie are delightful - meals are eaten together and Sylvie is an excellent cook. Although the house is an old farmhouse, the interior has been renovated in a very modern style. Thierry lit a very... More
