This is a great place to stay, it's in the countryside but only 20 mins off the motorway and 1hour from La Rochelle, this chateau is set in a beautiful location, I stayed here with two children, who also thoroughly enjoyed their stay here, the rooms are beautifully decorated, the rooms are spacious and clean and the shower in our... The staff were very friendly and the price was very good. Excellent place to spend a couple of days. The rextaurant was very good, a bit pricey but the food was worth it. There is a pool and plenty of gardens. Our room was very basic, in the annex, but as it was a bank holiday were we happy to... More

We can't understand most of the reviews as for the price we thought this chateau was excellent. The staff were very friendly even though most could not speak English. The surroundings and facilities were very good indeed. The rooms were basic hence the price but very clean. For £55 per room in August we couldn't fault it. The pool was... More

Disappointing. Lovely old building set in beautiful countryside, but then the internal conversions (annexe??) of the rooms we stayed in were completely modern and soulless (and a bit damp - there were no extractor fans in the bathroom). Perhaps practical and not expensive, and a great pool for the kids, but just a bit too spartan. The restaurant is run... More

I don't understand some of the other reviews. We spent 4 lovely days in this beautuful old chateau, in a secluded setting surrounded by fields of crops. Lovely old buildings, partly renovated, and the bedroom was modern but clean, spacious and comfortable with a small private terrace. Extremely nice helpful hosts Sylvie and Pasquale and the restaurant has one of... More

I was surprised at the cheap rate of 58 Euro for a two person room, then I found out why. We stayed in a fluorescent dorm type room with plastic furniture in a motel-like addition built in the 70's, which smelled like a urine and disinfectant mixture. Not at all what we expected. On a positive note, we ate dinner... More

Upon arrival we were shown to our room where the man couldn't open the door shrugged and left us to it, the whole time we were there the door didn't lock. When we went to the dining room there was no one around and my husband knocked on several doors before one was answered and we were told to go... More

Hotel staff (ie owners of the chateau) were extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. We booked a room for two adults and one child, paid one of the top rates for the room and ended up with the smallest room we have ever stayed in, it was actually a single person room. The room was basic, with four single beds pushed together... More
