Stumbled across the Eliot with a family of 5 plus baby after driving around and was made to feel very welcome by the owner (now know is Sue) this was after visiting 3 other local-ish pubs on previous days who all seemed to not give a care about their customers. The Tribute on every visit has been beautiful, and today... More

Stayed for three nights and had a great time. Sue and Courtney were so friendly and helpful in every way. Breakfast was large, hot and very tasty. Service was cheerful and efficient. Enjoyed the evenings here also, experiencing the relaxed and friendly ambience of the place and the company of the people. Sampled the food on two evenings and found... More

Lovely food and friendly locals. Food is cooked nicely and is of good quality, menu slightly limited but the welcome you get far outweighs this. A large selection of local and national brews. Nothing to fault this superb establishment. Myself and my cousin K8 the poet always get a warm and friendly welcome from Sue and her staff. We are... More

The Eliot Arms served as our initial welcome to our two-week stay in St. Germans...and a warm welcome it was. The landlady and the pub's other staff were friendly and cheery on every visit. We ate at the pub twice, and the food was always tasty...generous portions with a home-cooked flavour. Great to get chance to chat with some of... More

Had a fantastic holiday in St. Germans, decided to eat at the Eliot Arms which is an old inn in the village, the inn is really nice but the food was awful, luke warm food on cold plates my friend found a long hair in her food, people smoking in the outside doorway with the smoke wafting into the restaraunt,... As per the title we visited the pub during the stay nearby. We found the staff to be friendly and The food to be hot well cooked and good value for money. The landlady was very friendly and chatted to us for some time. Dogs are also allowed on leads in the bar area under control. If in the area... More

Wonderful village pub with excellent home-cooked food. Steak and ale pie, fish pie and fish cakes excellent. Very friendly bar staff. It made a great evening out whilst staying in the Old Luggage Van on St. Germans station.

Arrived for two night stay at 8.30pm, to be informed the kitchen, which we had been told was open until 9pm, was overworked and was not serving any food. Very noisy bar (below room) continued until well past midnight both nights. On trying to get pre-arranged breakfast for 8.30am, found bar door still locked at that time. Room not made... More

Thank you to the cheery staff who made our Thursday evening dinner (our last evening in St Germans) a most welcome treat. I enjoyed very much the tarragon chicken which I can highly recommend. We were staying at the Railholiday (Old Luggage Van) next to St Germans railway station. Our walk to to Eliot Arms was perfect, without having to... More
