Wow ! What an experience. Decided to do something different and avoid the traumas of shopping/cooking for the masses and instead have a slap up lunch cooked and washed up by someone else, in a superb waterfront setting! The Pub was chock full of happy people when we arrived at 1p.m. Very noisy and excited atmosphere but very enjoyable too.... More

Been so recently(today 1/1/2015) couldn't put the date in!! Drove from Buckinghamshire for lunch here and it was worth every mile(all 93 of them each way). Very warm welcome, great Bloody Mary followed by delicious starters and sublime mains-try the paella!!! Excellent wine list with good number available by the glass. Minor niggle poor parking so check tide table!! All... More

Stopped here for a pint and a bite after a walk, thinking this was a pub. It is not a pub but a restaurant serving overpriced food. We had two Caesar salads that were drowned in dressing and two fish soups that were not finished as they were not good. We also had 3 cokes and a beer. Cost £60.... More

Spent two days here over the Christmas holiday, what a fantastic place to be. Very good accommodation and the food on Christmas Day was really excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful despite being very busy. The location is wonderful with excellent walking opportunities. We will be back.

I have just returned from a Xmas stay at the Crab. A party of us 12 in total plus a gorgeous baby, my great grandchild. We all had a really great time. The accommodation was just right including the cottage, where we all spent Xmas Eve. Lunch on Xmas Day was memorable, the staff did everything they could to make... More

Popped into the C&L after a beautiful, wet and windy walk across the beach in Wittering. The welcoming was warm and sitting by the fire a great way to warm after the experience. Hospitality was great and the advice on food and real ale selection helped make it a very enjoyable lunch. You need to book and probably not a... More

We booked a family Sunday Lunch where we booked a specific table three weekends before the event. When we arrived on time they said the table had been booked to someone else ! The inexperienced waiter spilt my fathers beer as he placed it down and just walked off hardly 5 star service. A bottle of sparkling water was ordered... More

First evening visit and a lovely meal it was. Good local ales and excellent choices on the menu. Mackeral starter was perfectly balanced and all the fish we had was excellent. Only criticism was one we have in many restaurants which is the over use of salt. Efficient and friendly service. Great to have a good choice of wine in... More

As a restaurant I rate the crab and lobster highly when we stayed here we had two good meals but as a hotel I was disappointed. We saw it on the Mr and Mrs smith site and its not cheap so our expectations were high, Our room was small and as the hotel itself has no where for residents to... More

Found them in Mr and Mrs Smith and would recommend. The food is absolutely first rate, and all the people there are incredibly hospitable and professional. We stayed in the cottage which was comfy and well decorated. The location is off the beaten track. Not a huge amount to do except strolls and breathing the sea air. We went for... More
