We arrived unannounced and on the spur of the moment to be warmly greeted by a great front of house person - Sophie? We popped in for a warm up hot drink after a blustery walk along the coast at Church Norton. Snuggled in front of the fire we did indeed order hot drinks until we caught sight of the... More

We stayed here for a long weekend, as the first trip away with our new baby boy (10 weeks in). The staff were so relaxed with having him around, and our room had plenty of space to put pram and everything else we needed. This place is both a top restaurant and a high end accommodation, in a lovely rural... More

We went to the Crab and Lobster for the first time to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. The staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming and genuine from the moment we arrived and triumphed with a spontaneous "Happy Birthday" decorated plate for our daughter's dessert. You felt that nothing would have been too much trouble and the staff all seemed lovely people... More

We dropped into the Crab & Lobster looking for a light lunch, but full aware that this is a restaurant rather than a "local pub". The lady who greeted us was lovely, very helpful and assured us that we were just as welcome for a light lunch in the bar area (she was desperate to seat us in the restaurant,... More

One of the biggest problems of travelling with a young child is that if they stay in your room, once they go to bed at 7pm, you're stuck in a dark room. If you stick them into another room, you then worry that their door backs onto a hallway and you don't really want to leave them to eat downstairs.... More

Stopped here on a beautiful day for an amazing lunch. The roasted cod complemented so well the chateau du cray - Montagny Premier Cru x the comfortable surroundings were enhanced by the sea breeze blowing into the restaurant. The waitresses were lovely and looked after us so well. Civilised ambiance and a delightfully charming find. Well worth a visit x

When travelling with a 13 month old toddler there are two perspectives. One as a "normal" guest and one as that of a parent. From an adult perspective, the room is delightful - think exposed beams but in a modern style with great wifi, shower etc. The food in the restaurant is fabulous. Beautiful fish in either traditional or more... More

We came here in mid August at lunchtime and were welcomed most courteously and the staff were very good. I couldn't really fault the food too much. It was just that it was very expensive for a few sandwiches and salads. We were told the chips were very special which you'd expect at nearly £4 for an average portion. However... More

I generally try and stay here for the Goodwood Events and unfortunately so do most of the rest of the country! The first point with this place is book early, book early and again book early. Having booked what do you get? Well a bit of a gem actually! Staff that are always busy but always composed and accommodation in... More

Booking essential for dinner as a popular place and few other good places to eat in the area. Nicely decorated and attentive friendly staff with an informal air rather than slick professionalism. Lobster portion expensive and small as a main course. Crab cakes rather chewy and slightly drowned crab taste by the chilli sauce. Risotto was good. We would be... More
