Location is perfect and the view from the window was spectacular - overlooking river and the bridge, but that's about it. Room was dark, and badly crying for a refurb. 2 pillows on the bed absolutely different make, one soft & 1 hard, bathroom all mouldy, water temperature kept switching from hot to cold. I wouldn't stay there again. Restaurant... More

Lovely classic looking old hotel, on the bank of the beautiful Blackwater. The hotel main bar and lounge areas are great and the service is friendly and I got a great deal on the room on Booking.com. the room was pleasant and comfortable, the only problem is there is some sort of pump system that runs sporadically, and unless a... I have stayed while on business trips over the last few years & find the hotel very homely & comfortable as well as good value. The food is very good & breakfast is amazing, freshly cooked & way better than 5 star hotel buffet breakfasts. The hotel rooms are large & comfortable with antique pine style furniture & old sash... Myself and my boyfriend had to get sandwiches as the prices for mains are absolutely ridiculous - €19.95 for Chicken Supreme and €18.95 for Chicken Curry. Quite slow service, we waited 20 minutes to get two sandwiches and one portion of chips - outside of us there was only 4 other tables - two of these were getting tea and... More

The hotel was exactly as expected. We were given a warm welcome, good food and a relaxing evening at minimum cost. Dinner was great: wonderful value . The bedroom was large and comfortable but I would have loved a bigger TV! Bathroom a bit cramped but still totally fine

I stayed here for one night and this hotel is lovely. I booked a single room but when I got to the room I had a massive double bed all to myself, the bed was very comfy. The room was immaculately clean, the bathroom had loads of towels. I had an upper story room with a gorgeous view over the... More

I spent two nights here in February and despite being advised that the hotel was like Fawlty Towers with great food, I decided to stick with my booking. I am glad that I did. I needed to change my original booking twice. This was dealt with quickly and courteously. I arrived by car from Dublin at about 8.pm and took... More

We stayed on a Saturday night , and ate in the restaurant . The room was clean but a bit tired, but the 2 for 1 main meal deal made this very good value as an overnight b&b and evening meal stop. All four meals were excellent, with local vegetables cooked to perfection. However the highlight for us was seeing... More
