Spent a few lovely days here recently. Very comfy cottages- enjoyed the turf fires and really comfortable beds - all slept soundly! Great base from which to explore the beautiful north Mayo. Ross strand is a lovely blue flag beach- water is so incredibly clear! Downpatrick Head is a gorgeous area just out the road. Lovely drive across to Belmullet... More

The cottages were fantastic, turned up to stay with family. Turf for the fire provided and basket of bread and wine. Owners friendly and welcoming couldn't be more helpful provided us with great information about the area. Views great and great local amenities. Will definitely be heading back soon.

Had a lovely weekend here recently. So nice to get away and be greeted by such warmth and hospitality. The turf fire was lit the house warm and cosy. There was some treats in the fridge and fresh bread and scones waiting for us. We felt at home immediately. The next day we went on a fantastic guided walk with... More

We were two couples and two toddlers staying for a week in early June. The cottage was just perfect with lots of modern facilities and a spacious kitchen and living room. Liz and Tony were friendly, chatty and super helpful and made us feel very welcome and at home. Killala itself is tiny but with bars, a lovely restaurant, café,... More

I came to Killala knowing what a beautiful place it was but I also came to research my likely Killala heritage. The fully-stocked cottage at the Old Deanery provided the perfect "home" from which to research the 1800s with its traditional turf-fire hearth and spectacular view of Bartra Island and Killala Bay. Each morning and evening, a group of six... More

Great service here, far and above what was expected from a self catering site. Nothing was too much trouble. On arrival we were welcomed by Liz, who told us all about the area, and all the amenities, where was good to eat, etc etc. Free turf for the duration of our stay also. A lovely little play digger at the... More

This odd little place (and I mean odd in the nicest possible way) wouldn't be out of place in a Bram Stoker novel. Round towers, turf fires, a medieval cathedral and even an Irish wolfhound on the loose gives this place a great atmosphere for Halloween. Tony and Liz at the old deanery reminded me of an Ireland that I... More

With my husband and our little daughter (4), we choose this part of Ireland for being quiet and discover wonderful views. Two weeks in Killala were not enough to visit and enjoy everything in the area : beautiful countryside, cliffs, historical monuments, and so on ... Not many tourists as we hope. A special thanks to Liz and Tony who... More
