A truly wonderful meal to celebrate a birthday! Some of the most beautifully cooked food I have had anywhere. It's a two and a half hour drive from our house to the Mill and I would gladly do it in a heart-beat.

Friends had recommended this place, so we drove a huge distance to get there with friends over from the UK. It was worth it. The food is fab, the place and owner most welcoming and the location excellent. All four of us had a gourmet experience with the very best food cooked to the very highest standard, says it all.

My husband and I have just spent a very enjoyable weekend with our friends who are visiting from America . We stayed at The Mill in Dunfanaghy . The rooms were so comfortable , overlooking a lake . Such a tranquil atmosphere , which was also present in the dining and lounge areas . The food was excellent , in... More

The room we had was luxurious country house style with an excellent view over a beautiful lake. A welcome touch was the complimentary half bottles of wine in the room on arrival. Enjoyed drinks before dinner in a comfortable drawing room before the excellent dinner. Not surprised they are regularly voted Best Restaurant in Ulster - the quality of the... More

Another night in Ireland and again chosing for a restaurant with rooms, the Mill is very easy to find and the kitchen carries a very good reputation, so we needed to test this out. Upon arrival they showed us immediately to our room (altough again with small bathroom), nice welcome touch by finding two small bottles of wine in the... More

We had high expectations about staying at the Mill due to the previous reviews I had read, but as it was our first time staying and eating at the Mill I wondered if it would live up to the reviews.....it did! We were struck first by the quality of the room we were given. The furnishings were rich but not... More

Returned to the Mill in July for B+B and dinner. Read a few iffy reviews since my last visit but have to say these are a bit harsh - one reviewer mentioned that it feels stuffy, well the dining room does feel a bit heavy (furniture and decor) especially in summer, lighter colored table cloths might work but overall for... This was a family celebration and really was a night to remember. The food was excellent, the service was very attentive, everyone had a wonderful experience. We especially enjoyed the crab claws and the kid goat. Even the ladies were tempted to have pudding. After our meal we served ourselves tea and coffee in the conservatory and took lots of... More

This place is a treasure overlooking a lake and the Irish countryside. The staff is very hospitable and accommodating. The breakfasts are delicious as are the dinners (reservations a must!). Our room overlooked the water and made us wish we didn't have to leave.
