We had high expectations about staying at the Mill due to the previous reviews I had read, but as it was our first time staying and eating at the Mill I wondered if it would live up to the reviews.....it did! We were struck first by the quality of the room we were given. The furnishings were rich but not... More

Returned to the Mill in July for B+B and dinner. Read a few iffy reviews since my last visit but have to say these are a bit harsh - one reviewer mentioned that it feels stuffy, well the dining room does feel a bit heavy (furniture and decor) especially in summer, lighter colored table cloths might work but overall for... This was a family celebration and really was a night to remember. The food was excellent, the service was very attentive, everyone had a wonderful experience. We especially enjoyed the crab claws and the kid goat. Even the ladies were tempted to have pudding. After our meal we served ourselves tea and coffee in the conservatory and took lots of... More

This place is a treasure overlooking a lake and the Irish countryside. The staff is very hospitable and accommodating. The breakfasts are delicious as are the dinners (reservations a must!). Our room overlooked the water and made us wish we didn't have to leave.

My wife and I have just returned from our third visit in the last 8 months. We absolutely love everything about The Mill. Fantastic staff, beautiful location, stunning views, exceptionally peaceful and relaxing, cosy and comfortable interior and furnishings and a restaurant that is second to none in the North West. The quality of the ingredients, skill in cooking them,... More

This is the best place to eat for miles around. Fabulous service and surroundings. Do not pass this by if you are in search of an upmarket place to eat in the area. I love the pre dinner drinks by the fire! I didn't stay in the accomodation.

We just returned from here after a long Easter weekend stay, we had our 5 month old son with us and it was brilliant. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, food in the restaurant was prepared and served with an obvious love of food, and even our baby was made welcome and spoilt rotten. We stayed in the 'Casey' room... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights to celebrate her birthday just as the Mill reopened for the season. On arriving we overshot - the driveway is easy to miss, look out for it on the right as you drive out of Dunfanaghy, just past the Workhouse (good luck in finding it open!) and The Gallery (highly recommended) at... We stayed here for only one night...two would have been much better! The staff are great and the dinner very good indeed. The set menu contains a good and varied choice..my main of Turbot was impressive. There is,undoubtedely, some serious talent behind the kitchen doors .The wine list is relatively short but very well chosen and contains an excellent choice of sensibly priced...
