We had no reservation, just pulled in and were warmly greeted. The grounds were a working farm and we loved seeing the John Deer tractor out back. We were shown to our room in an additional area back behind the main house, given some suggestions for dinner and then left to relax. Breakfast was wonderful as we had so many... More

I spent 8 days in Ireland and it was my first time to travel solo. When I first found Coolakay House on the B&B site I was using to book my accommodations I only booked it for one night because it was short drive to the Dublin airport, but after reading the reviews and researching the location I booked another... We visited Coolakay House in November for our honeymoon. We were welcomed by Yvonne who was so sweet. The room was lovely, spacious for the two of us, and our view was like nothing we had ever seen before. Being our first trip to Europe and our first night of the trip, we would have to say it was a... More

This bed and breakfast is so convenient to the attractions at Powerscourt. Fairly close to Dublin in the middle of a beautiful area to see. The owners are very friendly, helpful and almost feel like family. They were so accomodating, don't miss this!

This was my second time to stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Yvonne, who operates the B&B is very personable, helpful, and made us feel very welcomed. The room was perfect and the bathroom huge, with both a large bathtub and shower. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. This is an excellent location for starting a visit of the... More

Stayed here on our last night in Ireland and were welcomed by the sweet and hospitable owner Yvonne. Our room was a good size, but it was not well heated and remained chilly all night. Also worthy of mentioning is the bright magenta color of the bedroom and bathroom. The shower was mediocre at best, but did the trick. Good view of... More

We ended our ten day B&B tour by staying the last two nights at Coolakay House. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. Yvonne made our stay a pleasure. It's more than a room to stay in. It's an experience we will remember always. We walked up through the pastures with ponies and sheep! The views were spectacular. Delicious breakfast and... More

This is a unique B&B full of character. The room was very clean, comfortable and had a nice view at the hills. The garden is beautiful! And the ponies, one of them is a baby, are not to be missed, so adorable! Yvonne is a great host. She picked us up in the afternoon and brought us back to the... More

We stayed at the Coolakay House for 2 nights having found it while returning from Powerscourt Waterfall. The property is ideally situated being in close proximity to many interesting tourist sites yet rural enough to give one the feeling of being a guest on a real farm. The grounds are beautifully manicured and extend far beyond the guesthouse with access... More
