Staying in a Castle was a once in a life time check mark on my bucket list. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL! and the history of the hotel is very interesting, it was so easy and kinda fun to just roam the halls and get lost. The food was good but not excellent. I must say if your a golfer this... More

Outstanding stay at the Castle. Beautiful setting with excellent meals. Played golf and the course was in good shape, the greens were true and a fun time. Took the kids to Falconry and had a wonderful time walking the grounds and flying the birds. Only negative is no air conditioning if it warm.

Really expensive but also really nice with lots of attention to details. Nice grounds and everything well maintained. Kids loved the falconry, go carts, and suite. Very kid oriented hotel which was nice for us. I would recommend splurging for a suite- we really liked ours! Also if you've got little kids take time to get bread and feed the... More

My husband and I have been planning a trip to Ireland for the past two years. We finally decided on a 8 day trip with a reputable tour company. We decided to add the one day extension because it would mean staying at the Dromoland Castle. This extra day came with a hefty price but we felt it would be... More

Husband & I recently spent our anniversary at Dromoland during an anniversary trip. After trekking about Ireland, it was a wonderful relief to arrive at Dromoland. We checked in, and set out to explore the grounds via bikes (available at the golf shop). Peaceful, beautiful, serene setting. Just breathtaking. After biking, we returned to our room to get ready for... More

At the moment I am having a visitor from my home country and last Monday we decided to visit the Dromoland Castle restaurant for a meal. Everything was perfect, food was excellent, service as well. After the meal we took a walk on the grounds around and later returned to the bar to attend the music session and to have... More

This Hotel was exemplary in every respect. It is the finest hotel we have ever experienced, in service to its guests, maintenance of the rooms, gardens and golf course. The staff were extraordinary attentive without being intrusive. The grounds are spectacular. Our room exceeded all expectations. We must report that Tony Frisbee, performed admirably in his management of the restaurants.

Certainly not your cookie cutter hotel! Very stately and grand with deep rich carpets and sweeping staircase. Our room overlooked the circle courtyard with the hedges cut in a beautiful design. This is were the lobby entry was but seemed like the back of the hotel instead. Very nice. Our room was palatial but I know that others in our... More

We spent two nights on our recent journey to London and Ireland, and only wish we could've had a longer stay at this beautiful location! This is definitely a "destination resort", and historical value aside, as well as the whole intrigue of staying in a castle, this hotel was magnificent. Our room was called a stateroom (Phaedrig Stateroom, Room 313),... More

This place is great if you've ever dreamed of trying to sleep in a sauna. I would have never went there had I known they didn't have A/C in the rooms. It ruined my trip as I spent sleepless nights because it was so hot in the room. The temperature outside dropped into the 60's but even with daytime temps... More

Dear Bill4145 I am truly very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We are experiencing some extreme very unusual humid weather conditions here at the moment and because our hotel is a very old castle it is not possible for us to have air-conditioning throughout the building. We are doing our very best to ensure all... More
