The Dromoland Castle was the last place we stayed on our trip to Ireland and it was a great way to end the vacation. The grounds are beautiful. We didn't golf - I'm sure the course is amazing - I recommend walking the paths and taking advantage of the outdoor activities on site. The service in the bar and restaurant... more

Everything was as the other reviewers have stated - the room was wonderful, the food fabulous (especially the fried shrimp we were served during a welcome reception for our group). I don't golf, but the course was beautiful. We walked the grounds extensively one day and it was like being in Sherwood Forest - lovely and magical. One observation, then... more

What an experience. We were greeted by John. He is the bellman, car parking person. What a great way to be welcomed. The staff is very accomodating. The rooms are huge, clean with 110 and 220 plug in capacity in the rooms. They also have robes and slippers in the rooms. Our room was beautifully decorated with everything a traveler... more

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in Dromoland Castle last weekend. To be honest I had very high expectations as it was quite expensive even though we got a special offer rate, I was overwhelmed from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Firstly we were wished happy anniversary when we arrived ( the very... more

Flew to Shannon from Boston, and after a very comfortable flight of 5 1/4 hours (by the way, Aer Lingus has by far the most confortable coach class of all airlines I've flown in, the leg room is incredible by today's standards), and a few airport formalities we were on our way to Dromoland (used O'Brien's Taxi, least expensive of... more

My Partner and I stayed in Dromoland for one night it was our second time we arrived both times early on the Sunday both times our rooms were ready and both times we stayed in the same room 208. (Which by the way is gorgeous but more suited to an opulent twin room, it has two very small doubles) I... more

Stayed a weekend here as part of a group and enjoyed the stay in what is a grand hotel with good outdoor facilities (golf course, driving range, practice green, clay pidgeon shooting etc), nice indoor pool and good walks. The cooked breakfasts were great. Had a beautiful room with a massive bathroom. For those wanting a quiet weekend it is... more

Booked into the Dromoland Castle for the final night of our ten day honeymoon. The drive in was beautiful; green fields and wooded areas gave way to the sourrounding golf greens and a large lake and finally the castle itself seated on a hill beyond the lake. The wife and I arrived around 3 pm and were greeted by a... more

I had the privilege of going to Ireland in August (over my birthday) with my dad, stepmom, and my husband. We stayed for a week and spent a few nights at Dromoland Castle. WOW!!! What a way to begin a stay in Ireland. The grounds are so amazing and the castle is so neat. The staff is very, very friendly... more
