What a nice surprise upon entering the room! The decor was really nice and the beds were very comfortable. Kathleen and Richard are pleasant hosts who made us feel welcome from the start. Breakfast was fantastic and satisfying. I enjoyed my brief stay at Hunter's Lodge. more

Since there are no photos posted on the Hunter's Lodge website I was somewhat leary about exactly what I had booked. Pleasantly surprised. After just arriving in Shannon, we were very tired. Our plans were to attend a family wedding reception that evening at Dromoland. Since they helped us arrange a taxi to take us back and forth to the... more

We had to fly back from to Holland from a weeks holiday in Ireland. We stayed one night at the Hunters Lodge. Nice furniture, good bed, great TV-screem, good showers. Our own hairdrier in the room. Nice staff and good food in the pub/restaurant. All at a very reasonable price. The lodge is next to a busy road, but in... more

A real disappointment. Paper thin mattresses, broken showers, and a hair dryer that must be shared by several rooms, all in sparsely furnished rooms (our party used three). Unfortunately, road crews started work right outside our windows at 7 AM each morning. The staff was friendly (as is everyone in Ireland), but seemed to accept the condition with no ambition... more

This was a friendly place, but was not what I expected based on its Fodor's review. The room was sparsely furnished. Real beds (not a 3-inch mattress on a frame) would have been nice and added considerably to the comfort. Shower was poor and there was no hairdryer. (The lone hairdryer left in the common area was taken by another... more

My wife and I and our friends have stayed at the Lodge many times in the past ten years. It's the best place to stay anytime your are in that area. You will find an excellent pub, friendly staff, and great food at a reasonable price. The rooms are clean and beautifullly decorated. All you have to do is walk... more

Stayed at Hunters Lodge upon arriving from Shannon airport. If you're not pressed for time on your journey, this is the perfect place to relax for a couple of days and shake off your jetlag. You have all the sights of County Clare within a short distance, and can retire to Hunters Lodge each night, without having to worry about... more

Stayed there upon arrival in Shannon. The friendliest hosts you can imagine. Great pub with tasty food. Perfect first night stayover before a trip to the Cliffs of Moher. We are planning our next trip to Ireland and we will definetely stay at Hunter's Lodge again. more
