Our stay at the Clare Inn was booked through a travel agent, who had previously done an excellent job with the hotels. This was our last stop of a journey of 10 days through Ireland, flying home from Shannon. A nightmare from the moment we pulled into the driveway. The place was packed, and young children were running everywhere. I... more

Stayed one night while sightseeing around country. I was very leery after reading previous reviews. It actually wasn't that bad. It is older and in need of some TLC. However it is very accomidating to families with children. There were many things for the kids to do without fear of disturbing other guests. The staff was friendly and helpful. The... more

Stayed at the Clare Inn for a wedding. The rooms were not great, old fashioned and in need of updating. The carpets around the whole hotel smelt of stale smoke. The bar was nice, lovely fire and good entertainment. The wedding meal itself was nice, good staff and plenty of room. more

We stayed in this hotel for one night as part of a package we purchased from Aer Lingus Vacations. After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I was expecting the worst!!! But, honestly, I didn't think it was that bad. We arrived in the morning, as most flights from the U.S. do, and they let us check in immediately. Our room... more

Play room very run down with broken glass under a couple of video game machines . Bar very spacious and Kid... more

Hotel looks more like American Motel, outside and carpark are shabby and untidy. Entering reception is no better with completely outdated furnishings and very run down appearance. despite 4 people behind reception took 10mins to be dealt with (all dealing with 1 customers complaint!). Told to come back at 2:30pm for check-in (check-in listed as 2pm), arrived back at 3pm... more

Lynch hotels are usually fine. The Clare is the last in a string of hotels that have been refurbished. I hope it gets its turn soon. It was shabby. That's the only word I can use to describe it. The rooms were clean but the plumbing was iffy at best. We could barely turn the faucet in our sink. The... more

The Clare Hotel was very busy when we stayed there which made for a lively atmosphere. The staff was very accommodating and nice. There was a lawn bowling contest being held at the hotel that attracted several elderly bowlers. The guests were very fun to watch and very entertaining when they took over the dance floor in the pub. As... more

If you like cold showers, hundreds of screaming kids, and cold showers, then this is the place for you. The restuarant was terrible except for breakfast. We complained about the cold showers and we were told sometimes it happens. A simple sorry would have done. Avoid this place. more
