John and Joan O'Connor provided us with yet another magical weekend in the Kingdom. Their friendly and warm welcome sets the tone in this beautiful yet homely country house. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the breakfast, each morning served by the smilingly efficient waitress is extensive and gorgeous. The chat and craic with our hosts and Bart the manager... The Kilcooly house is True Ireland. One of the most charming buildings I have ever seen with creaky stairs and all the European touches an American would want. The rooms were big for a European hotel and very clean. John and Joan took care of us like family. W head laundry done and waiting at the front desk for us... More

Barth the manager and mayor greeted us personally on arrival and could not have been more courteous, polite and informative. The rooms are just great, well appointed, clean and the beds beat some of the best hotels I have stayed in London and New York.. The restaurant and bar are amongst the best in the area with the added bonus of great... More

Burt, the manager met us after a long day of driving the gorgeous countryside and immediately bantered with us and told us he had a "very nice room" for the likes of us! Boy, did he! Mammoth and well-appointed room, a fantastic pub and restaurant with great food and incredible live entertainment, plus it's five minutes to gorgeous scenery! What... More

We stayed here one night while vacationing in May and golfing at Ballybunion. Shout out to Brian who checked us all in, made sure we were all comfortable, served us our drinks and dinner and was just a pleasure! Thank you. Stay here - you'll love it.

My Friend and I booked into this hotel early May 2015, from the street it looked like a small pub and B&B, I was pleasantly surprised by the interior especially the bedroom, it was massive easily twice the size of a normal hotel room. The beds are big and comfortable and the service from staff is second to none, they... More

We did not stay at the County House but the owners also have a great pub/restaurant in central Ballybunion called Kilcooly's Pub. It has great food with a lively all age crowd. Also, I had mistakenly been overbilled on my credit card and the next day they found the mistake and immediately credited me. All this before I even noticed... More

Kilcooly's is your best choice of where to stay when golfing or visiting Ballybunion, An old Victorian hotel run by Joan and John O'Connor on the Kerry coast, They gave a warm Irish welcome to all of their guests - and provided a parking lot! Their manager, Barth, is a jack of trades, and we enjoyed joking with him and... More
