Hello fellow travellers, Kil oily is a (probably) typical country hotel and restaurant in county Kerry. It's situated on the main road in Ballybunnion and is on of the few establishments offering dinner! The premises themselves have a welcoming and warm decor making you feel at home (at least I did). Generally the staff is quite friendly and checks every... More

Amazing country house with bar and restaurant. Will come back. Rooms are massive and the service is second to none. A bit pricey but worth it. Breakfast was super and hot coffee was replaced a no of times.

Think I made that last word up but apt....first impression good, older house, but reception modern and clean . Traveling party know the owner, John O'Connor, greeted warmly, to say the least (!). Onto the bar, where totally enjoyed a very good chowder. By the way, did drop bag to room- spotless. All good so far....before we hit the town-... More

This was a wonderful experience. Joan and John are the owners and are tremendous. They both went out of their way to make this a great experience for us. We were in SW Ireland playing golf. We stayed in 4 towns, in 4 B&B's. This was by far the best. The rooms were good, the house was warm and accommodating... More

Just arrived home after spending 3 nights. Had booked on-line as thought it looked nice. It couldn't have been a nicer, more friendly house to stay in. Beautiful big house, doesn't feel like a hotel - but with all the benefits of a top quality hotel. Fine big room with very comfortable beds, spotless bathroom and great breakfasts. But the... More

Loved the rustic feel. Our room was great and the entire house and pub was very fun. Great staff and fun to be around Right in town so extremely convenient to everything. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant for one of our dinners and a first rate breakfast each morning the place to stay when in town for golf

We popped in for a bite to eat on our trip and we were promptly attended to by a lovely waiter who took us to our table. This place has great ambience and warmth. Great service, attentive staff and great food. Even though the restaurant was very busy or orders were taken and no delays were experienced. Would definitely recommend... More

Spent two nights here and the owner was very accommodating. The rooms were good but being an older building one can hear the floors creek when someone walks in the room above. Unfortunately they had a prom night for the young kids in town and the party went on til the wee hours of the morning and nobody got any... More

The service in this venue is crap.I tried to book a table one day having gone in at approx 5.30 pm.I was assured by the manager that a seat would be waiting for me on my return at 7.30 pm.This was completely untrue. Having finally got a seat at the bar counter,I waited for an hour for the joint of... More
