I stayed the night here with three of my mates and we all had a grand time! The rooms were big enough and the bathroom was good but what really made the stay was the hospitality of Sheila, our hostess. Upon arrival, we all felt incredibly welcomed when she made us irish coffee and hot crossed buns (both delicious!) and... more

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in the vast rolling hills and mystical scenery of the Irish countryside, whilst being charmed by your comfortable countryside quarters, look no further. Ashgrove House is perfectly located in the heart of gorgeous countryside, down the road from a period furnished castle and traditional Irish Pub, and is a bus ride from the... more

I loved this place. My husband and I were treated like royalty. Frank and SHeila are so up beat and fun. They served us Irish coffees on arrival, and gave us brilliant advice on local attractions etc. The grounds are really well kept and the room was cosy and warm, with a very clean en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was yummy...lots of fruit,yoghurts,porridge,sausage,bacon,eggs,scones,breads,pancakes!!!... more

I was so pleased with my one night stay in April 2007 that when I planned my trip in Feb 2008 I asked Sheila if she would put me up for 6 nights. My sister and niece joined me. Each morning she took our breakfast order (mmmmmm) and even packed scones when we had to leave at 4 am for... more

Upon stepping into this B&B, I was immediately struck by three things: the terribly musty smell, how cold it was in the house, and the open laundry room filled with unfolded towels and such. Things didn't get better when we got to our room -- it was much too small for 3 people, the towels were mismatched, and there were... more

We spent 8 nights in Ireland and one night at the Ashgrove House B&B. Although, Sheila was friendly and informative, the accommodations were not on par with the other places we stayed. The radiator was on, but it didn't seem to warm the room. It was cold and musty smelling. No hand towels were provided and not enough bath towels... more

We picked the Ashgrove House for our last night in Ireland due to its proximity to Shannon. Frank and Sheila were very entertaining and wonderful hosts. We were immediately offered an authentic Irish coffee which was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Creamery and visited Meg O'Malley's for yet another pull of vitamin G. Sheila packed us... more

We bookended our stay in Ireland with 2 nights at Ashgrove. Since we've never been to Ireland or a B&B before, Sheila had everything handled and taken care of. We were able to get right into our room and snooze for a few hours before going to the madrigal dinner performance at Bunratty (which Sheila booked for us by the... more

Ashgrove hous is a great place to stay if you are flying in or out of Shannon. It is less than 1/2 hour away. The Inkeeper, Shelia, is a real sweetheart. She will give you an Irish coffee after a long trip and lots of hints on what to see and do. Touring Bunratty Castle and Folk Village (just down... more

Sheila is an outstanding hostess and runs a truly special B&B. She did everything possible to make our brief stay in Bunratty comfortable and memorable. My friend and I spent only one night at Ashgrove House before an early departure from Shannon Airport, but it ended up being the nicest B&B on our entire tour of Ireland. The rooms were... more
