Disappointed. The room I was allocated was small and furnishings were tired and well worn. The bath had a large chip in it. The shower ceiling was very low and anybody above six feet would struggle. By contrast, other members of our Tour had enormous suites with views of Bunratty castle. Our room had a nice view of a dingy... More

The hotel is an older facility with a degree of charm. However: The toilet was difficult to flush. The sink did not drain well. The signage in the hotel maze leaves much to be desired. The spa & fitness center don't open until 8 in the morning which leaves little time for a shower, breakfast and early checkout. The service... More

This hotel has a great location and definitely has some charm. Our room was comfortable with a great bathtub. It would have been nice, if breakfast would have been included, and the staff could use some happy pills. We arrived 5 minutes early for breakfast and we're scolded by an older staff who said they would not have hot food... More

We had 2 rooms for our family. No help with our baggage on check in. Our rooms were shabby. Jurassic style TVs. Ratty, smelly carpet. A tiny ironing board on the wall that had ripped and stained cover on it. Seriously, this place looks like it is stuck in the 70s. Breakfast the next morning was crowded- servers really could... Delicious food and a lovely reception in old style decor. Kathleens bar is a great spot for a pint. Was also here for a Christmas party and the function room was really nice and the staff were efficient

I stayed here for 2 nights with my 2 girls. I booked a family room, the first which was room 260. The beds were pretty much broken, they were squeaky and had dips in the middle of the mattresses. The curtains had stains on them and were hanging off the rails. The sofa had also a massive stain on it.... More

On a tour and very impressed with this hotel. Luxurious accommodation and food and bar service was excellent. The lamb shanks served in the restaurant were very good. Stayed only one night but would stay again. Down the way was an interesting pub with in walking distance and also a woolen mill for shopping.

We stayed here on our last night of a 5 night trip to Ireland. The location is good with close proximity to Bunratty Folk Park and Shannon airport but the hotel itself is in poor condition. The lobby was presentable but our room was at best rundown. The drapes were shabby and not even hung straight. The carpet was worn... More

We have eaten in Kathleens Bar on a few occassions now and the food is just fantastic. The Burger is the best I have ever eaten and the homemade onion rings are gorgeous. Great selection of Fish and meat dishes and also wraps / sandwiches etc. The mussles are also really good and the Prawns Pil Pil. If you are... More
