Such a pretty location. A golf course, gardens. Plenty of history. Food and service excellent. A maze to walk through and I mean the building. Up steps, down steps, round corners. Not a friendly place if you have walking difficulties. Avoid staying in the stables right at the back. they look nice but if you are over 6 foot tall... More

Stayed here for a wedding recently, which was very well done and we enjoyed our visit, but there was an issue with our bill on checkout. We settled the bill in full at the time, and have since tried to contact the hotel several times to look into our issue. We have not asked for a refund, we politely asked... More

We recently stayed for one night in the hotel. We were guests to a wedding reception. Having previously been to the hotel for an afternoon drink, we knew some of the surroundings. The wedding reception itself was second to none, food was fantastic and very plentiful. The reception/function room was beautiful - old worldly in keeping with the old charm... More

We recently were having a few days holiday break and as i had been at a confirmation lunch in this hotel which was really good we decided to make a return visit .We had to travel a bit out of our way but we felt it would be worth the drive going on my previous experience. The meal was not cheap... Highly recommend a stay at Cabra. Fancy acting the country squire? Large country side grounds, Irish wolfhounds outside the door, knights in armour on the landing - all on tap. Food is great and the bar hosts a combination of locals, hotel guests and wedding parties. All good fun.

We stayed here in February for a winter wedding, and it is a truly FANTASTIC venue. We had a room in the refurbished part of the outhouses and it was beautiful, the original beams have been kept and the room was sizeable. We had a lovely room service breakfast one day and ate in the castle bar for lunch and... More

We stayed here in the cottages on the grounds in April 2014 as we were attending a wedding. These rooms are significantly cheaper and the staff did their best to make sure our friends stayed in the same house. Each bedroom has its own lock. The rooms are lovely, very modern and very clean. They are a 5 minute walk... More

We stayed for 3 nights for a friends wedding. The castle and grounds are stunning the Irish wolf hounds that great you are so massive! Good breakfast and reasonable priced drinks at the bar. The castle rooms do vary in size and with the castle features, our room didn't have a 4 poster bed or bath where a few rooms... More

If you are looking for an Authentic Castle experience, then this is the place to go. The place is steeped in history but has been beautifully, yet tastefully restored and still manages to maintain a lot of the original features. There are essentially two types of accommodation - the Castle itself - which is the original building with all the... More

Stayed here on the 21st June for a family wedding, we had brillant day, food was great, staff are fantastic. But if you are given room 94 in the courtyard ask to be changed, as it is very like a room you'd have stayed in the 90's, decor is awful, big crack across the ceiling and walls, marks on the... More
