The saving grace was the great breakfast and the lovely lady who was serving it. She was very professional. Otherwise it has a mediocre attitude throughout . I was given a key to a room on admission, to find an older gentleman sitting on the bed watching TV as i barged in- embarrassing to say the least..!! the next room... More

Myself and my boyfriend were staying in Cabra Castle nearby but decided to go for dinner here because the menu seemed to suit our tastes better. When we arrived there was no one at reception or even in the restaurant to greet us, we had to wait for a man to come along to tell us to go into the... More

Good points 1st, location is excellent, bar food was lovely, bar staff and locals are friendly, free WiFi accessible in rooms only over bar, family room consisting of a double bed and 2 singles was spacious. Bad points... room was dark and very noisey from passing traffic, no shelf in bathroom and a clump of hair in plughole!, Beds are... More

Myself and my partner have been going here for years and myself even before that. The rooms are good value for money and are fairly standard size, family rooms are big enough. The staff are what really makes this place. They are very friendly and will do what they can to accommodate you. The food is good hearty honest food... More

Friendly staff when they can be located. Pubic hair around the toilet wasn't a nice welcome. Had to ask for heating to be switched on as it was Baltic. Bed was poor. Curtains may as well be see through. Food was very nice.

Stayed here in Dec 2014 while visiting family. The first room we went into had a broken bed. The second room wasn't much better. The bed linen wasn't clean looking, yellowish rather than white sheets and I found a long black hair in there - not mine or my husbands. Carpets were filthy, everything was grubby looking, beds were old... More

I stayed here for 1 night and I found the place spotless. Staff friendly and great menu. The room was clean and warm. I asked for a quite room and that's what I got. I would stay here again with hesitation. Oh, and the breakfast was lovely!!

We asked for a quiet room and all I can say is I'd hate to stay in a noisy room. We could hear the singer from the bar as if he was in our room with us until about 1.30a.m. and when the disco closed at about 3.30 the people leaving made a lot of noise on the street outside.... More
